will Alabama use it's national brand to sell a patch on the uni's

I read where the big12 jumped the gun and sold out to monster drink for the entire conference to wear patches, paint slogans on the fields and courts for 20 million a year, to be divided by all 16 teams.
That's only a bit over 1 million a year to each team.
Alabama would get at least 20-25 million or more per year for just a uniform patch if they decide to go that way.
I think tOSU got 20 - 25 million a year from Chase.

A Mercedes patch should’ve been a done deal….however…
Apparently our deal with Learfield is a sticking point at the moment that might limit our options. Our contract with them is different than what Ohio State has.

Why does it seem that our athletics department always makes a bold new deal that turns out to be the shittiest decision in retrospect.

If we sell out for any less than 20 million a year it will suk
The rules allow you to have two patches for advertisement.
I think all the teams I've seen do a deal, no team has sold the 2nd patch.
- The big12 will probably have a team that sells it's 2nd now that they see what a shitty deal the conference made.

Does anybody know if we finally re-negotiated that horrible Nike deal that Bill Battle handled? I'd heard the contract was up a year or two ago but don't recall seeing anything if it had been handled.
It still galls me that a pair of goobers from Auburn have handled the Quad tailgating fiasco for years now.
Does anyone even know if UA is negotiating with any companies for "patch" money? I hope I'm wrong but I don't have a lot of confidence in the athletic department negotiating these type things.

I said above that we are looking at our options but our deal with Learfield limits them. I was told that until we figure out a way around that, we aren’t going to see a $20 million dollar patch deal.
Hoping the movement of our SEC patch in the fall camp photos means we are confident that something will get done. Last year we didn’t announce the field sponsor until the week of first game so holding out that is the deadline.
Would be a tremendously wasted opportunity to not get a prestigious national brand with a market setting price.

If Learfield is the impediment to getting a good deal for a patch, what a TERRIBLE situation for UA. Would love to know who the genius is who negotiated such a terrible deal.

Hopefully we change nothing and don’t take part in further whoring out the sport and our brand.

There may already be a deal, but the delay may be Alabama is trying to determine what the market value is with other top programs. Once they have comparables, they can then negotiate accordingly. At least I think that’s what I would do if it had to be done. But I wish that we could just stay traditional.

-Judge Pruett is a literal retard so we don’t have the advantage of judges who will make decisions that actually make sense; let alone annihilate the rules
