Not so - he couldn't hit a 15 ft pass to save his life

Do you expect all of us to state, with metaphysical certitude to the point where our lives and our families' lives are at stake if we're wrong, that he is absolutely, incontrovertibly guaranteed to be successful in 2025?

None of us can do that.

But the majority of folks here like what we see and are approaching the season with confidence as we should do.

I was telling the OP to chill and stop worrying, nothing is guaranteed but things look good and let’s wait for it all to play out, but I guess I had a brain stupor or something in trying to say that …

Just one last comment DeBoer has never played against teams that will hate his team as much as Alabama's opponents hate them. He should have a clue after last year with losing to Vandy, getting killed by Oklahoma, and getting man handled by South Carolina in a close win. There were other games almost as bad.

The fact they still refuse to name a starter gives me pause. It's clear Mack is close still... So what's the reason

A starter wasn't named the last two seasons either, but it's clear no one aside from Milroe ever had a real chance for whatever reason.

Keeping a competition "open" is probably important in the NIL era, especially with Bama having no depth at QB right now.

Maybe they don't want Mack to transfer - someone would try to poach him if he was clearly second

How does it benefit the team for a coach to publicly announce a starter? The guys in the locker room know who is starting.

Well I found his little message to the fans a bit bizarre and inappropriate in the.middle of a qb competition.

I guess he learned well from Milroe.

Seriously, what QB and leader sends out messages to the fanbase. Hey dude... just earn the job. Prove you can do it.

I think it was Nick Kelly but one beat writer did some research and with Penix, Haener and Milroe who all 3 are NFL drafted QBs Deboer did not name a starter until two weeks before kickoff I think he's just a competition for competition sake coach.

Grubb has said since post spring as bout as clearly as he can without stepping on Deboers toes that Simpson is the starter. He even said on practice 2 he wanted the competition to be over.

Doubts...sure. Id have doubts about any new QB, including the other ones on the roster.

Doubts? Reasonable ones: I want to see what I think is there in the road opener.

Until I see him perform against quality competition, of course there will be doubts.

However I have the belief that he is going to be a good quarterback for us.

Welp.

Pack it up, boys.

Ty didn't throw a dime on one route against air during the 5th practice of Fall Camp.

Season ended before it even started.

I'm not race baiting and I'm not a troll. Some of you just can't understand when someone doesn't agree with your opinions. I call balls and strikes.
