Pete golding. He ran a good defense at UT San Antonio and honestly, i believe that's really why he was hired
That's who I'd like to see...from what I read/heard, he's a young innovative guy and I think we need something who can throw some new wrinkles in there...

Georgia is always getting everything no matter what. So I’d take it with a grain of salt.

Linebacker play imo is a product of recruiting failures more than anything. I mean, losing great coaches has had a huge effect as well but when your top prospect three years ago can't even contribute on special teams you have a problem. Not enough bodies at Mike and injuries on the outside has greatly diminished the level of play we are used to. Next year may be a challenge as well if we have to rely on a true freshman.

We were too desperate to keep his recruiting and it backfired. Expecting a position coach to learn how to be a top tier DC on the fly was never going to work, at least the span of one season. He may develop into something down the road but he's just not the guy right now

Still don’t know why people don’t realize that Pete has been calling the defense all year...Tosh helps in the game plan but Pete is the one In control on game days. Pete and Saban

Tv shots of Tosh look like he was making the calls unless he was being told what to call

And Golding had some health issues last week in Miami. Probably couldn’t contribute to the Clemson gameplan/playcalling like he was supposed to.

Golding has been a disaster

No On Golding. He is LB coach and he is already assisting Lupoi. I want a better DC but if you demote Lupoi he is gone. So Bama had better have a sure fire hire if you’re going to give up his recruiting ability.

This was Tosh's first season as a DC, the first season at Bama for the rest of the defensive staff and 9 new starters on defense. It's silly to blame everything on Tosh and throw him under the bus. All of the defensive issues are fixable.
Get out of here with such a reasonable and rational post.

QUESTION: You've said to me in the past that you tend to remember the losses much more than the wins. Outside of the scoreboard, what do you think you'll remember most about tonight?
NICK SABAN: I just have a feeling that I didn't do a very good job for our team, with our team, giving them the best opportunity to be successful. I always feel that way, even sometimes when we win, I think there's things we could do better or that I could have done better.
But particularly in this case, never really ever got comfortable with what we needed to do to win this game, especially on defense, especially the match-ups we had in our secondary versus their receivers. That was something that was kind of bothering me going into the game, and as the game unfolded, it worked out that those match-ups were a big difference in the game.

Golding needs to be gone
If this were truly the case, then Saban would have told him to go when Ole Miss and OU came calling. Golding is not the problem.
Golding/Lupoi are considered Co-DC. I wonder if you swap play calling duties over to Golding. Put Lupoi in the box and Golding on the field. It could be played off as giving the DC a different perspective. No one would be the wiser.
Speaking of booth vs box, I wonder if Enos moves up to the box or stays on the field next year?

That’s funny right there!

Pete is in the booth and making the calls. Tosh is the eyes on the field, but from what I’ve been told and heard it’s Pete’s decisions. Still a guy that young with that responsibility was taking to school Monday night.

I'm pretty sure tosh was calling plays

We will agree to disagree. Just what I’ve been told and heard from beat writers, people connected with the program etc.
