Cole is misrepresenting what it’s like. The style is always the OCs style. We’ve had about 5 different style offenses now at Alabama under Saban. The terminology is Bama’s. Saban has said many times that he’s not making 105 players and 10 coaches learn one guy’s terminology when he can make one guy learn ours. That may be a deterrent for some guys.

Exactly. Saban’s philosophy makes total damn sense. And it has worked out greatly. Record offenses the past 5+ years, especially 2018 and 2020. I dont think Sarkisian missed a beat because he had to use a different word for a pass route or whatever.

I thought this guy “turned us down” yesterday. Is this new information or old info?

Where did you see that? Was it in this pile of thread somewhere?

There was an article (still out there) when Sark was hired, that said, new coordinators dont change much of what the Tide does, offensively or defensively. They work within the system and make as many tweaks as Nick Saban allows. Sark in that article said they would probably use quick passes because that is what Tua is good at and we cant afford to get him hurt. That has carried over to B Young because we dont have a backup. I suspect that if Milroe is the qb they will let him run more in the RPO offense.

Anyone deterred by that isn't worth hiring.

Paraphrasing from some guys on the paywall board; Johnson from the Eagles and Brady have both shown mutual interest in the job and we are looking to interview them. Johnson puts us out another 2 weeks, but if that's the case I think it would be worth the wait.

Exactly... makes perfect sense - especially as often as we change coordinators. Keeps continuity even with staff changes

How about Collin Klein at Kansas State? He might be on Saban's list according to TI.

Someone help me understand the Johnson intrigue. What offenses has he successfully coordinated? Obviously it's not a prerequisite but it's hard to get excited about a guy if he's never done it at a high level.

Now that would be out of left field. But Saban has rarely hired guys that young.

Ga plays bama old school ball and wins 2 natties..maybe saban wants to go back to more ball control instead of quick strike constantly giving more possessions to opponents o

Rodney's exact words were "I think Klein is somewhere on Saban's list."

But that of course doesn't specify where on the list he is.

Yeah dude we get it. This is a forum platform in which we discuss sports, sometimes that involves hypotheticals and rumors. Relax.
