I’m just excited about this team and the guys who want to be here. I loved JQ. Loved Rylan. They wanted to go do other things on other teams. Loyalty is a tough thing to come by but this team we have right now is actually full of guys who could’ve left for different opportunities/more money/professional opportunities and decided to stay in Tuscaloosa and have a chance at something special.
I like the guys we have on our team now and don’t really care at all about any players on Kansas or Memphis or wherever else.

I like what I am hearing from your assessment.
I can't wait to see Philon distribute the basketball with all this talent around because he's a really good passer and I am happy to hear that he's really good defensively as well.
We've stockpiled this team with a ton of talent and Coach Oats and company will get the most out of them.
Aden Holloway will be good in due time just got to get comfortable.
No U-Turns!

Are we using the Sears’ conversion chart to get him back to 6’10”?

Sears would need to bring back Roebuck to be that tall

Tape looks good and im excited to have him coming in. But not sure where he will be able to play a "major role" unless he is a lockdown defender. He doesnt look like much of a ball handler. He can probably cause a lot of trouble in transition but im not sure where he fits in the half court set.
But i know Nate is gonna have him putting up a ton of shots. He will become more of a shooter. But until he does im not sure how much he is different from Mo D.

I think he's already more comfortable on the perimeter and has a better stroke (pause) than MoD. Could definitely see him competing for the starting 3 spot. I do wonder if he's going to be a better fit at the 4 long term tho.

You can watch the first three games of the U18 with Derrion Reid on the
YouTube FIBA Basketball Channel: June 3, 4 and 5. Not sure of local
time. The website shows 8:10 PM (GMT-3)

So you don’t think Derrion Reid, now on the USA under 18 team, is any better than Mo D????????

More than likely Reid is probably going to end up chewing up Mo Diobaute's big wing combo forward role. If he's getting 1-and-done buzz, the staff is probably going to have to find the minutes for him somewhere between the 3 and 4 spots.

Defensively, Reid, Nelson, and Cliff would mirror 2022. That’s an NBA bodied lineup. The question is how much offense they put out

I didnt say he isnt better. I said his skillset doesnt seem to be different. Im interested in potential lineups for next year. I dont think, with the system that Nate runs, that we could have Reid and Mo D on the court together.

Reid can play above the rim and shoots it well from deep. Aside from size, their skill sets are pretty different.

It's definitely hard to forecast minutes on a roster this deep, but I do think this post underestimates the kind of prospect Reid is quite a bit. It's certainly possible he struggles adjusting to the college game and takes some time to work his way into the rotation, but he's a legit superstar prospect imo. I think he's gonna play a bigger role than you think by the time this season is done.

Reid's size, athleticism, and defense are ready on day 1. He'll have to prove it at this level offensively, mainly perimeter shooting, but if he does he's starting before the end of the season. He'd be too valuable at that point to come off the bench unless he was eating a ton of backup minutes at wing, which will, of course, eat into minutes for guys like Jarin, Mallette, Youngblood, and Wrightsell.
He was also a 5* before an injury, which knocked him down the final rankings because his performance suffered. I'll be extremely interested in watching him over the next few days and see where he's at development-wise.
