I was thinking about staying away from this thread since I didn’t post and we won, but I post too infrequently to have that kind of power so I’ve come crawling back.

Nope, the credit (and the blame for the past few weeks) is due entirely to me. We have to update our network passwords at work every 60 days, and I updated mine to a version of Roll Tide. I did that right around the beginning of the year, either just before the Davidson loss or the Memphis loss.

I finally realized the error of my ways yesterday afternoon, and changed the password again. Off-cycle, I might add; it wasn't time to do it. But I figured the team needed my help. And lo and behold, we won.

Of course, I wasn't able to log in to my work computer last night or early this morning, because of some sort of syncing issue brought on by my password change. But IT got it resolved a little while ago, and it was a small price to pay to see the team respond so well.

speaking of basketball superstitions, during the Ala/Aub game in T'town after we made that big run after the 8 minute tv timeout in the 2nd half, this guy sitting in front of us that had been really into the game, loud to say the least, was just coming back to his seat, missed the whole run but you could tell he was excited.

His wife looked directly at him and said so everyone around them could hear, 'there's no damn way you are sitting back down in this seat. Did you see what happened when you left?"

He didn't even hesitate. Ole boy popped up, and walked back right back out to watch at the concession stand to see the finish. It got big laughs.

Didn't work.

I haven't posted here in a while. Just wanted to step in and say how encouraged I was with JD's play last night.

It's painfully obvious that he was never properly developed as a complete player in youth ball and HS. I love the fact that he wanted to stay home and play for Calhoun. That's what HS sports is all about! But it hurt his game. Based on the videos I saw of Calhoun from the last couple of years, it looked like they sat in 2-3 zone and had JD in the middle of the back line. Lol. No wonder he has struggled so much defensively. HS and youth coaches in Alabama, I am BEGGING you to play more man! Jusaun Holt is half the athlete JD is, but you can tell he was well coached in HS. It will come for JD. Just be patient.

My wife can convince me of some pretty dumb superstitious shite during games as well. She could probably have a little side hustle by live streaming me watching our games.

Where are you getting you stats during the game?

Repost, since it got lost during the game comments. I usually get my stats from the ESPN app. But it definitely isn't showing +/-. Where is the best place to get stats during the game?

I'm actually thrilled we're playing Arkansas at 11 am. Never thought I'd be happy with a pre noon tipoff. But Saturday is the first full day of Mardi Gras parades. And with it being cancelled last year, I'm probably going to get pretty fricking crazy. First parade is at 2-230. So the timing couldn't be more perfect.

I can't help but laugh that the difference between the we hot scenario and collapse scenario is net #17-23.

That honestly doesn't sound right. But this has been a weird arse season.

I watched him drain 3's all night against my high school team a few times. He had a sweet shot

If this season has taught me anything it is that NET can be just as flawed and stupid as RPI. There seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason to when teams rise or fall.

the live stat page on rolltide.com/basketball/schedule does a pretty good job

check that out during the next game

big game Sat also for tiebreaker scenarios later. We win, we own Ark no matter what if we tie with them in the standings. We own the tiebreaker with Fla and Tenn now which is nice and they are ahead of us too.

I think we handle business at home. We had a disappointing performance against UK, but then shot lights out finally against OM away.

We come back home with some confidence. Shackleford, crazy enough, might be the guy who leads us in scoring the rest of the way. He’s been our best shooter, and we need him to do well.

Someone needs to write a dissertation on LSU's net rating this year.

The way they play just doesn't seem to affect it much. They lost 6 of 7 (against some good teams, some not so good teams), and their NET dropped like a handful of spots.

In general, it seems to me to not fluctuate (for all teams) as much as you'd think it would.

I wore my new Alabama basketball sweater during the game last night. Was getting a little nervous in the first half thinking if we lost then I couldn't wear it again for the rest of the season.

Reckon? I mean, he's led us in scoring for 2 years.
