Does anyone have any insight into Leonard Miller's recruitment? I know he announced a top 10 recently (8 schools, 2 pro routes). Has he set a date? Do we have a legit chance?

I haven't posted here in a while. Just wanted to step in and say how encouraged I was with JD's play last night.

It's painfully obvious that he was never properly developed as a complete player in youth ball and HS. I love the fact that he wanted to stay home and play for Calhoun. That's what HS sports is all about! But it hurt his game. Based on the videos I saw of Calhoun from the last couple of years, it looked like they sat in 2-3 zone and had JD in the middle of the back line. Lol. No wonder he has struggled so much defensively. HS and youth coaches in Alabama, I am BEGGING you to play more man! Jusaun Holt is half the athlete JD is, but you can tell he was well coached in HS. It will come for JD. Just be patient.

Greg Byrne asked about Coleman Coliseum renovation/replacement. “We do absolutely understand that it has to be a priority” and recognized “momentum” with basketball program.

"We do have to have a financial model that works long-term."

Per source, Alabama's Jordan Bruner suffered a torn meniscus last night. Dislocated finger for Herb Jones.

@YouBetterYouBet @BetSweats

IF this is true, best case 1-2 missed games for Herb and best case 1 month for Bruner?
I came here for good news on Jordan Bruner and BY GAWD I ain't leaving without it!
Trying to not think about the scenario where we get rekt by WKU tomorrow and then Kyle Pitts catches 5 touchdown passes and we turn the ball over 6 times and lose.

What's wrong with me?
I'd love to see Gary in the rotation more, taking minutes from Rojas. He's such a smooth athlete and has the hops to be a solid rebounder.

No one seems to be worried about this, but I can't help but think we will see sanctions.

Petty looks like the light has finally come on and he’s working hard at upping his game and it shows. I’m happy for him and proud he answered the call. I have to wonder if Oats had a come to Jesus meeting with him in private to spark this or if Petty did it on his own. Either way, I hope it continues.

He became a leader in the offseason. His shots weren't falling the first few games, but that doesn't mean he needed a spark to from Oats to get started.

Honestly, Petty's transformation began last year. He struggled shooting (mostly because the offense didn't create a lot of catch and shoot opportunities), but he showed marked improvement as a defender and rebounder. He's even better this year. Watching him grow has been fun.

Oklahoma State just received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA that includes Level 1 infractions.

You have to imagine that one is coming for Auburn. Lamont Evans was guilty of the same crime as Chuck Persons.

How is Karim Mane not a top 10-15 player in this class? His film is sick

Yeah, I'm all in on Karim Mane. What a freaking stud. Hope he chooses to play basketball for free tuition instead of real money.

One thing I love about this team is they absolutely get after it on the boards. Small sample size, obviously, but this may turn out to be the best rebounding team we've had in years (other than the Bola year, which was an aberration, imo).

Oats “optimistic” about UA basketball; Mack enters transfer portal

quote:

“We have a lot of players that fit into the way we like to play. You look at Herb Jones in transition. Kira Lewis is one of the fastest point guards in the country. John Petty can definitely shoot and you need shooters to spread the floor. Alex Reese is a big kid who can shoot. Galin Smith can defend and rebounds and he is a tough kid. And we think we added some good players in the late period.”

He said he was becoming “too comfortable” in Tuscaloosa. “I knew everyone around there,” he said. “It’s home. I wasn’t putting in as much work as I should. There were a lot of distractions. I loved my time at Alabama but – with this being my last year – I wanted to give basketball everything I’ve got. I’m in the gym all the time right now just striving to be the best I can be.”

Ingram said he did not reconsider his decision to transfer when Alabama changed coaches. The Crimson Tide hired former Buffalo coach Nate Oats to replace Avery Johnson. “My mind was already set on leaving,” he said. “I wasn’t putting the work in that I needed to put in and you could kind of tell in my game.”
