re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
I didnt say he would play small forward, for us, I meant with his body type I consider him a small forward, not a big, he isn't practicing with the bigs. I think he plays mainly the 4 for us.
Ah ok, nevermind  Even if he comes out next year and shoots 35% from 3, I'm sti...

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
I'm probably one of Gary's biggest fans on this board, but I just think for now he's best suited for the 4 (or even very small ball 5 in some certain circumstances). He rebounds on both ends, runs the court, protects the rim, you can switch him on defense, etc. That's what he's good at, and he's...
INPO I'd go Quinerly Davison Shack Ellis Burnett Gary Gurley Tchikou Bediako
That's probably what I would go with too. Miles would make a lot of sense as a wing with size, but I think it could just as easily be Holt. On the other hand, I don't think Gary is a ...
We will miss Herb's versatility on that end, but I think we will overall be a good defensive team assuming everyone buys in like they did last year. The only guys on the roster who I think are physically limited to being average defenders are Shack and JQ.
Pretty much agree. I do ...
UAA Dallas: Five-star forward Jarace Walker recaps official visits Houston: "Quannas White has been recruiting me and it was a great visit. They have a high-level family atmosphere over there.
Two FORMER lottery picks Obi still has some hope though he needs to prove something next season at his age, but Knox couldn't get minutes on a lower tier playoff team. They're basically offering two younger guys who played sparingly or not at all and a non-lottery pick. That's a pretty und...
If Shack is going to be a distraction AND we could pick up Obanor, then yes, we would be better off.
Personally I don't think he'll be a distraction, but more importantly apparently Oats doesn't either. Coaches aren't infallible or anything when it comes to dealing with ros...
It would be better for the team if Shack moved on. This has a real potential to affect team chemistry.
Nate Oats is a grown man that can point to a spot on the bench if he doesn't like how things are going with one of our players. If Oats wants him back then I'm fine with it. ...

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
It would have made more sense for Shackleford to enter the transfer portal earlier, just like it would have made things easier for us. I think it makes more sense to just assume it was a very tough decision and one he wasn’t sure about than it does to assume he was trying to torpedo our roster manag...
Cockburn is big but he seems to move well and looks pretty athletic for his size to me. Not saying he's the perfect fit for our system, but sometimes you take talent even if they don't fit perfectly. An NBA team may run a space and pace offense to perfection, but if prime Shaq wants to come p...

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
You might be talking about other polls or other writers, but I’m a little surprised that Gary Parrish only dropped us from 5 to 15. We lost two of our best players in one day. I still think we’re going to be really good, and I also assume we’ll add another shooter, but for now 15 seems more than...

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
It is really something how down the NBA is on traditional centers - especially ones that aren’t considered quick enough to switch defensively. There was a time when Cockburn would have been a super high pick. I think he would be a take for almost any college program, regardless of style/fit. ...
Yeah I mean you'd think our fans would have learned by now to never assume a guy will shoot well until he has made like 35-40 of the first 100 3s he attempts in an Alabama uniform. We could field an entire team of highly touted prep guards who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat the...

My guess is we don’t have much to “worry” about with Carr. I know these guys are mostly wired to be confident, but I don’t know why a PG would be dying to transfer in. And if we get Russell it’s simply another sign that defensive box plus minus and defensive win shares are fundamentally flawed m...

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
To be clear, I really haven’t seen much (or any) of most of the guys, but Coburn seems to make some sense from a statistical profile. Really good shooter and big enough to not be a liability on defense (even though his advanced stats don’t seem to indicate that he’s especially good on that end)....

re: Alabama Basketball | Off-season & Recruiting - Crede15
I don’t think the sky is falling, but I do think this team could use another shooter now, given the style we play. JQ shot it amazingly well last year, and that may well continue. Keon shot it well on low volume. I have no sense for how JD will shoot the ball. I think there’s reason to belivve ...

re: NBA 6/28 | SDVTiger’s Clippers @ jackwoods4’s Suns | WCF Game 5 edition - Crede15
I’m not really sure why the Suns keep ending up with Ayton on Paul George and Booker on Marcus Morris. It’s always on the left side, and meanwhile Crowder and Bridges are just sitting there hanging out with Pat Beverly and Mann on the other side of the court. ...

Who are "these guys coming in?" Burnett and JD? On the perimeter, we lose Petty and possibly Primo, not to mention Herb. It just doesn't make much sense to me, which means there's probably at least a 49% chance it's true. ...
