We’re not losing Sears. He’s not an NBA guy and he’s a hometown kid with eligibility remaining. He’ll get an NIL boost because of the exposure he’ll receive in March and being our main guy next season.

I also personally believe he values getting his degree and exhausting his eligibility before moving overseas. He’s a very good college player but the idea of him leaving early for the pros needs to be put to rest.

I like Gates. Seems like a good dude and they play a fun style of ball.

The guy stays in the refs ear!...sign of a good coach.

Anyone follow UConn in conference play? What's up with them? They looked like a different level compared to us when we played. Obviously we have improved a lot but they seem to have taken a step back

Clowney not having any of Miller's trying to run away with the freshmen player of the week awards in the conference.

Starts the week:
17 points
14 rebounds
0 turnovers
1 steal
1 assist
6-11 from the field/5-7 from the line
29 minutes

Yea he was in their ear but our guy does that too. I think the refs let them vent for the most part. Watch that line though....

I don't mind the occasional tech from the coach. It wakes the team up more than it ends the game.

Per Torvik, we're the #1 defensive team in the country per adjusted efficiency since the Gonzaga game

I posted yesterday that I thought this was the key. If we can keep the turnovers in that 8-10 range like we have been, I think we'll have a shot in every single game. The UCONN and Gonzaga games were mostly lost due to -9 and -12 turnover margins.

If we keep turnovers in that range you discussed then we're almost unbeatable by teams that aren't Top 15-20 level teams, and really good but not elite teams are going to have play top level games (probably at home, and probably with a favorable whistle) to beat us. Which is why so many people look at our makeup, roster and structure and say we are built to be a good tournament team. Whereas Tennessee and the way they play is vulnerable to a bad matchup against a hot shooting mid major, we just aren't. Doesn't mean we can't lose a game, but we'd have to play outside of what has become our normal performance to lose to some of the "scary" type mid-major teams in the NCAAT.

Our turnovers in those early games legitimately cost us 8-12 pt margins in all of those games we played. Without them, our floor is just astronomically high due to everything else we do so well on both ends. And as we all said at the time, they all felt so unnecessary and silly. It FELT correctable, and it has been corrected. Just gotta hope we continue it.

They seem to be last year's version of Alabama. Big wins early then fall apart as the season goes along.

I keep seeing UNC as our possible 2nd round game in some bracketologies. Pass.

I read down that list and it finally set in how good we are. I was looking for one team that scared me and I couldn’t find one. Obviously we could frick up and lose first round because that’s sports, but jeez this team actually has what it takes to win it all.

Only a 3% chance to even finish third on 1/22 is pretty good.
