Halfway through January, haven't lost a home or away game. Amazing.

So Mizzu kicked a few students out that made trashy remarks about the shooting. Evidently, it's didn't happen much, isolated incident but good for them for taking action.

Mizzou did them a favor by kicking them out. Spared them from witnessing the 21 point beat down in person.

I thought it was funny as hell when the walk on went for the buzzer beater layup. When they flashed to Oats right after, as he was lining up to shake Missouri's hand, Nate immediately apologies to Gates, points to him and explains that the walk on got to excited. Gates seemed cool and understanding about it.

I like Gates. Seems like a good dude and they play a fun style of ball.

for those that follow recruiting and incoming players, please help this neophyte understand who we will be losing and who steps in with the incoming freshmen. Who takes Miller's minutes and points. JQ is gone? Does Clowney leave and if so who takes his points? IF this is an off season thread then kick me to the curb and answer after the dance.

someone find some more NIL money for Sears ASAP

JQ could technically use his covid year next year, right? hang with his brother for one more year.

Gonna have to sign two forwards who can come in and contribute as starters more than likely.

Gonna need to put the press on Sears to stay one more year.

Losing him and Clowney would be a gut punch.

Yes but it was unexpected at the start of the season. Sears leaving after one year would also not be something we planned on happening back in November either. Losing both of them would make hitting a home run in the portal pretty much a necessity unless there's some elite prospect looking to reclassify.

I don't think Sears is even close to leaving. He's a very good college player, but his athleticism is limited. He isn't likely to be a high draftee. If he would even be drafted at all. I think its far more likely that he stays till he graduates. He's a smart crafty player who makes the most of the physical tools he does have. But hes too short to play SG in the NBA, and he's not really a PG.

Remember when he tried to dunk earlier this year and couldn't quite get to the rim? That will not cut it at the next level.

edit: Even on drives he rarely blows by anyone, typically the defender is keeping up with him, Sears just understands angles and how to keep a defender away from the ball enough to get a good shot off.

Why would we lose Sears? Am I missing something? He has 2 years of eligibility left.

He is from Alabama and wanted to play for Alabama because it’s his favorite school and close to home.

These guys are overreacting to the season we are having and how well everyone is playing. Sears is an excellent college player, but there are a ton of guys who dominated in college and couldn't cut it in the NBA. I mean, the NCAA leading scorer this season will not be in the NBA, that kid from Detroit Mercy.

I've seen a little buzz about him as a second round guy, but I don't put a ton of stock in it. He is probably going to be a priority signing for top overseas leagues though and that's not exactly minimum wage. If he can make more money playing professionally he'd probably consider it. Thus, make sure he's taken care of with NIL.
