- 5 seeds that are favored by 4 or less points are 3-7 since 2012 (St Mary's is favored by 4 over VCU) (Miami is favored by 2 over Drake)
- 4 seeds that are favored by 4 or less points are 2-3 vs 13 seeds since 2003 (Indiana is favored by 4 Kent State)
- Marquette is the first 2 seed since 2015 (Kansas) to be favored by less than 12 in their opening game vs a 15 seed (Marquette -10.5 vs Vermont). #2 seeds that are favored by 12 or less are 3-1 since 2006 (Lehigh over Duke the only win), but all 3 of the 4 games have been single digit margins.

Compared to the other regions I think we have a relatively easier path to the final four, as long as we play to our potential

I think our 8/9 game is a pretty basic 8/9 game. We didn't get a underseeded low-major like Memphis and we didn't get a team that can make 25 3s on their best day regardless of defense like Iowa.
We got by far the best 4/5 draw with UVA/SDSU (and the best "upset" draw with Furman/Charleston because of how they play and would match up with us).
The Elite 8 vs Arizona/Creighton/Baylor would be tough.........but we're talking about an Elite 8 game, so obviously it is going to be tough. None of those teams are the "kryptonite" type team like UConn, though. They are all 3 types of teams we can do our thing against without being forced to do something else.

The only thing I see there is if ULL makes a bunch of 3s. They shoot it at a high clip (48th nationally), but they don't shoot that many of them (315th nationally in 3P Rate). They have to decide they are going to shoot more of them.
But the way Tennessee can play offense sometimes......they give the other team every chance to hang around.

I've switched it back and forth on my bracket several times now. But I think I've finally settled in Louisiana. I feel like I should make a pot of good luck gumbo tonight, just in case.
