For all the complaining about everything else, if Ty could start putting some air on these deep balls the offense would open back up. He’s missed a bunch this year with guys running wide open. His best one of the year was dropped by RW.

No they haven’t. They are 113th in the nation in sacks.

In the first 8 games they had 8 sacks.

In the last four games, they’ve had 9 sacks.

I’m guessing you forgot all about Saban’s last few years. That offense has been shaky since 2022.

- dumbass play calls that don't work and make the teams rhythm suffer.

The essential player in the offense is a quarterback who can process everything. Neither Milroe nor Ty has been him.

It doesn't take a genius QB. Just a guy who has a rocket arm and tons of confidence in his arm. This is a big-play, deep passing offense.

Simpson is a game manager at best. He doesn't have the right stuff for this offense.

DeBoer has never beaten around the bush about this. He's been very clear that this offense is QB-centric. We need a QB that DeBoer recruited running the show.

Only one other team scored this many points on Auburn all season and that game went to overtime. I think sometimes we just need to recognize that the other teams are good. Auburn has a great defense and had a head coach and QB that were an anchor for them the majority of the season. Bama got Auburn's best punch of the season and took it.

Eh, I’m still not impressed. Their best game was against Texas with three sacks and Arch dropped back 50 times in the game.

They aren’t in the same league as many teams we’ve played this year when it comes to getting after the passer.

The dude is 10-2 and took his team to the SECCG despite a top 10 SOS. I dont think you can handle real football. Maybe you should watch reruns of 2012 season instead of the games being played now

I used to be a huge Grubb guy. Now if he left it may be a good thing. He is obsessed with running space plays to short side of the field and other odd things. But there is something he is missing in coaching up Ty.

My only real issue with Grubbs is those infererioratingly stupid trick plays that never work when we are moving the ball and they turn momentum back to the opposing defense.

AU's defense started hammering Ty when we tried that stupid stupid stupid flea flicker play. If he'd quit trying those aid be okay.

Pepol forget that we are playing another team, and we always get their best shots on defense and offense, every single week.

A thing that really grinds my gears is our operation on getting the play calling from booth to players. I thought that may improve with Grubb down on the sideline but not really. The fact that we burned a timeout coming out of TV timeout before the start of the 4th quarter is just incredibly bad stuff.

I feel like the last time I've seen a Bama team do something like that was in some blowout where 3rd stringers and walk-ons were on the field and something was completely fricked up. Just miserable to see that happening with the starters.

Exactly. Ty hasn’t been perfect. Grubbs hasn’t been perfect but they’ve been good this year.

Coaches generally have a “thing” that they do, regardless of the personnel. I understand that doesn’t sit well with some people here and with a fan base that doesn’t cotton to any retooling projects and expects results on the field, period. I’m not sure DeBoer understands that yet.

I think a truly great staff could adjust a little to fit the personnel during the roster transition. If you don’t have the athletic OL to accommodate the scheme you want to run, I don’t think it’s asking too much to have a few run plays using the blocking scheme the OL is suited for

Slow developing lateral plays are snuffed out because of the speed of SEC defenses. You run east and west - you are getting tackled. Same is true on kickoff/punt returns. You can run 40 yards east and west and look like you have done something, and you are starting on your 12

I said after the Oklahoma game that every coach below Grubbs that has anything to do with the running game...OL coach, RB coach, etc...should be fired, and got several downvotes.

It's one of the worst running games in the country and probably the worst in the history of the program.

In my job, and in most of y'all's, we don't get to keep our job if our production is historically bad. Period, full stop. This program demands better. I'm not saying we have to go back to being a run heavy offense with Heisman winners running the ball. I am saying that we should absolutely be better than average. Worse than #110 in the country in YPC and YPG is absolutely unacceptable, and heads should roll for it.

Not saying we should always run on first down, but when we do, we should be consistently looking at 2nd and 6 or better. When it's third (or fourth) and short, we shouldn't have to depend solely on the pass because our running game isn't capable of getting the first down.

Look at the LSU/Oklahoma/Auburn games..... dude has .5 seconds to get rid of the ball.

This just isn’t true at all. Ty had all day to throw on several plays yesterday and couldn’t make the play. There wasn’t anyone near him on the first deep ball and he hadn’t had any free rushers at that point in the game. On the almost pick over the middle, he had all day as well. The OL played one of their best games all season yesterday and Ty couldn’t do anything with it for the most part.

There are 2 or so plays a game where a runner is free and smacks the shite out of him.

Well, yeah, when a team blitzes 6-7 they are always going to have a free rusher. That’s kind of how it works and it’s on Ty to find the hot route. The main one that happened last night was due to a horrible trick play and had nothing to do with the OL. Almost every OL in the country misses at least 1-2 blocks every game that ends up in a sack, it’s very rare to throw 30+ times in a game and not give up a single sack (that said, our OL has had some bad games but last night wasn’t one of them).

The rushing game is a problem, but last night we were pretty good.

fAU had the 10th best rushing defense in the country and held opposing teams to 2.7 yards per carry and 94 rushing yards per game.

Last night we ran for 4.2 yards per carry and 158 rushing yards.

Our offensive line was beginning to suck in Saban’s final years. I struggle to find a scheme this line could excel in especially when we don’t have an elite running back on the roster.
