If memory serves me correctly, wasnt it the same side of the LOS that allowed the UGA block and the OU almost block?

What was the deal sending in 20 for the screen pass and not 0. Is that guy hurt?
Well technically, #20 did do a good job of pass blocking on that screen to him as he did "block" 2 OU guys.

I know in the past it has always been that comparing same opponents didnt really mean all that much, can't remember the saying but basically that the stats aren't comparable.
But with today's metrics, is this still true?
For instance, Bama, IU and tOSU have all played Wisky. Bama played them in Sept @ home, tOSU in October @ Wisky and IU in November @ home.
Rush stats, pass stats, defensive stats, QB stats, and score are all very similar. I didnt watch the tOSU or IU games vs Wisky and see it was a different Wisky QB in all 3 games.
I get IU and tOSU are really good teams, I watched the B1GCG.
But is it safe to feel that neither team is really that much better than us based on the Wisky game stats and advanced metrics?

My living room in PC, FL.
My friends and family do not allow me to watch games in public. My fiancé and dog do not allow me to watch games with friends or family.
According to them, I have a problem.

Maybe a dumb question, but can Nix now coach our WRs/RBs thru the playoffs this year or is there a NCAA rule that he can't do anything until next year for us?

Tom Brady would have had trouble leading an offense versus UGA with these clown RBs, WRs, and TEs.
Ty slid down behind the LOS for a 5yd loss on a botched run play by RB instead of throwing it away.
It's decisions like that this year by Ty that are inexcusable. He's a good kid, but that play and a few others have caused me to pray that he goes into the draft.

I wish that someone would sit CKD and Grubb down and force them to watch the Saban's epic arse smacking/chewing of AJ video on repeat for an entire day so they get the proper wording and hand to asscheek technique perfect before using it on Ty...sometimes we all need a good arse-chewing instead of having our ego stroked.
I'm guessing you disagree with me so I will defer to you and others as y'all are significantly more savvy/smarter than I.

Just out of curiosity, if tOSU boatraces IU, and I mean by significantly more than IU beat Oregon (10), Bama beats UGA by a TD or more, is the committee forced to then view IU and Oregon as significantly lesser teams and it also helps us move up to the top 4?
I get we have more losses than both teams, and FSU is really bad, but their schedule/wins are significantly less impressive than ours.
It's a hypothetical, but anything can happen, right?

Agree completely. As always, y'all are much smarter than me and I lurk a lot as I learn more from you than vice versa.
Just felt the sting of YStar's post in another thread stating something to the effect "...acting like we run 50 trick plays..." and felt I should clarify my "stupid trick play" emphasis in my posts were not meant to make it seem that he was correct in his assumption but rather that this one trick play made me spew a 20 minute fbomb-laden tirade at my TV causing my fiancé and dog to leave the room and not speak to me for a few days.

My "issue" with a select few, not all of the trick plays is that I am old school, Bama MTAQ by pounding the crap out of the defense, putting a dagger through their and every member of their familys' hearts and making them beg Bama for mercy old school.
I admit I am having a hard time falling in love with this new Bama, and CFB more scoring is better mentality. I am trying to get on board though.
The trick play against AU wasn't needed at all, We were doing well offensively to that point and with Ty having issues with connecting on long balls in a normal snap and drop back, a slow developing flea flicker just never seemed necessary to me.
With all that said, I do love Germie, Brooks and RW reverses, wildcats, Proctor runs/catches etc. but I, in my notsoknowledgeable opinion, consider those to be more normal low risk/high reward than trick plays in today's football.

Thank you. J sincerely was t sure when the announcers/forum members state that he has the freedom to change the play and does so often if he was calling his own play.
Seem to remember hearing that the Mannings were given free reign back in their college days to do so and wasnt sure if Ty had that same leeway.

You seriously cant believe any of what you wrote here. You think Ty is bored by wide open receivers so is choosing to throw to covered receivers intead? You dont think they practice timing? What do you think they do at practice?
My apologies, I forget that sarcasm doesn't always come through in my messages.
No, I don't truly believe they don't practice timing hence the "...it's almost as if..." qualifier.
And no, I don't think he's actually bored by wide open receivers so he misses them. He has a really great gift of fitting passes into amazing spots when Bama really needs a big play. I wish he was equally as amazing at hitting Germie running wide open.
Overall I'm a Ty fan, he is way more than a game manager and has stepped up for us in huge ways this year. We would absolutely not be in the running without him and many of his heroics.
I'll start using the /sarcasm/ sign from mow on.

Our offensive play calling is suspect too
I keep reading this from many of the "experts" here. "Grubbs is terrible" , etc.
But I also keep reading that Ty is changing a lot of the plays at the LOS. Sooooo, can someone ELI5 this idiot (ME), how Grubbs can be so horrible/terrible if Ty is changing 10%/25%/50%/75%/100%/?? of the Grubbs called plays?
I will reiterate I hate, hate, hate, hate the stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid trick/flea flicker plays with the passion of a trillion suns.
I also think that one of Ty's biggest issues, hitting the open man, is b/c he salivates at making those throws that are in extremely tight spots like the Horton TD, Brook's sideline holy schmokes catch, etc. Germie running free is boring to him, its almost like they don't practice together on timing every day. I wish Ty would just throw the short 2 I'd gain for the 1st down instead of the missed bomb.
As for injuries, that was the first time we've seen that on the sideline with Ty and they only showed it once last night? Not saying he isnt banged up, he has taken some shots that hurt me on my couch, but I'm pretty sure with the way those sideline reporters watch like a hawk, we'd have seen this before and they didn't go back to it again...why?
Lastly, who does Holly Rowe have so much blackmail dirt on that she keeps getting the main games??? She is the worst game reporter IMHO and its not even close.

Posted by NoleTideNole on 11/29/25 at 11:42 pm to Shocco
My only real issue with Grubbs is those infererioratingly stupid trick plays that never work when we are moving the ball and they turn momentum back to the opposing defense.
AU's defense started hammering Ty when we tried that stupid stupid stupid flea flicker play. If he'd quit trying those aid be okay.
Pepol forget that we are playing another team, and we always get their best shots on defense and offense, every single week.

I've been a superstitious Bama fan for over 50 years now, I blame Ty's father. Ty flew him in for that game, they showed him 100 times and its been downhill Ty, and Bama, ever since. ?? ?? Yes, I am kidding.
Very proud of Bama right now, they have to be the most battle tested and resilient team ever.

I'd do the antenna thing if I could pick up any channels, but I can't.
Part of your issue may also be your TV. It's not just the antenna as many believe that determines whether you receive channels or not.
TVs have different tuners in them, some have great tuners, some have weak crappy tuners.
I have 3 TVs, Sony 65" newer and 2 Plasmas. The Sony has its good days and its bad days depending on the weather. My antenna is hooked to all 3 and is in my attic. The plasmas have terrible tuners and I rarely ever rescind on them. The Sony however, I rescan for channels each time b/c some days it get 30+ channels, some days only 26. And a lot of those bad days I cant get CBS.
I live in Panama City so much different from your situation. I also use a Shield with greyware to watch everything and have been for over 12 years now.
If I'm in your location, I'd look into an antenna signal booster, reasonably/inexpensive priced ones do a decent job of helping. I lived in Bayview for a long time and had to have one for the plasma that worked great.
Otherwise, pick up a firestick, add a few key apps and enjoy.

Saban warped our perception about what good defense is.
We are good on defense but we are use to being ELITE on defense and shutting everything down
This.
IMHO, the biggest reason we will never ever see an elite defense from any team ever again is b/c QBs are so protected now. Everyone wants offense and high scoring. I've always preferred to watch defenses tee off on qbs and make them scared to drop back b/c they know they're about to be buried. Make their arse quit.
And yes, the targeting rul is a great and necessary rule, but not being able to hit the qb within a step or 2 is just ridiculous. And yes, I get the safety factor for qbs.
I miss the MTAQ defensive games.
With that said, this defense is fun to watch much like watching a roller coaster ride video. My emotions and blood pressure get way up with each play, I lean into curves, raise my hands and someti.es throw up or pass out.
Or like a box of chocolates, sometimes we get the really disgusting coconut chocolates, sometimes its the really good truffle, milk chocolate or caramel, and then sometimes its the amazing turtle bites like that pick 6 last night.

I really wish that whatever voodoo curse is on us that these qbs play the most perfect games against us of their lives is reversed some day.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Chicken's handle is such b/c he sacrifices chickens in his voodooery against Bama.
Thanks for indulging me and not making feel any better about Saturday. ???? Here's hoping he plays the worst game of his life this Saturday.
