I agree IF Bills and Latu "step up," but we've been waiting for that to happen all season, and Bills doesn't look like the same guy this year.

Brooks caught the big pass in the IB, but he did run the wrong route just two plays before that.

We've got three weeks to figure it out so I'm hopeful, but I'm not gonna listen to people pretend like Metch is just some guy we'll replace. That is nonsense

Alabama signed the best receiver class in the nation. At least one or two will be ready. I am reminded of Smith, Ruggs, and Jeudy in the national title game vs UGA.

I don't think anyone is saying that John Metchie isn't valuable, but saying it is a disaster is an overstatement. Losing Evan Neal would be closer to a "disaster" than losing Metch. I love Metchie and think he is underrated, but this team can be near to or just as effective with good preparation by Bryce, BoB and the rest of the offense. Bryce has to trust the other guys cause they do win.

Losing Metchie sucks but its not a disaster. We don't need Metchie to beat Cincy. Plenty of young guys to step up plus Latu and Bilingsley.

The process has paid off once again as Brooks, Holden and Bil#19 stepped up.Through all the attitude/BS Bilingsly has sent the staff thru.We saw with the AU game on the line they called 19's number. The kid just needed to stay focus trust the process.

I still think Holden is a kid that can be very productive if he can get more consistent.
You can also see Leary has a little pep in his motion as he feels he ready since Jojo is out.

side note: I believe #84 is going to play in the cinn game.Yes he's taken the longest to buy in.
But notice his home boy Brooks knows its coins on the ground NIL wise and he's on the field!

I think 84 now see's that buying in pays off and playing with bryce is prime-time stage.!

This. He is good, but not elite. Not like Williams. Or Devonta, Waddle, Jeudy, etc. It's not as bad as losing Waddle last year.

Brian Robinson's health is a MUCH bigger concern. We have depth at WR.

I believe Brooks starts and Holden AND Hall will get playing time. With a few weeks before Cincy, these youngsters should look at this time as basically a preseason camp

With the extra practice maybe 84 can get out of doghouse. I think he can be a difference maker with his head on straight. # 5 to me can be very good too but for some reason he is not playing much this year.

Not really, the offense started moving the ball with regularity in the middle of the 3rd qtr.

Had 55 yards thru the first 2 1/2 qtrs, then gained ~180 yards prior to the 97 yard drive to end the game. Had 4 consecutive productive drives yardwise prior to the TD drive but they ended in 2 TO on downs, 1 muffed FG and 1 good FG. Bama gained 277 yards the last 1 1/2 qtrs, but only scored 10 points. The reality is that Bama should have won the game in regulation.

Not saying the team didn't miss Williams, it surely did, but they moved the ball much better than most remember. But Williams is much more important than Metchie, though Metchie will be missed, but his absence isn't close to a disaster, especially with 3 weeks to prepare.

They tried to make Billingsley a big part of the offense. He had 6 targets yesterday

We know that Billingsley is capable and in a few weeks things can change. Things changed a lot in a week at more than one position.

I think that a question that is basically as important is will the offensive line remain the same ? Seth McLaughlin played well yesterday with Dalcourt out. Owens played pretty well considering how shaky he's been in the past few weeks. Will Dalcourt return to the line up ? That group played very well considering the talent of UGA. Can they keep it going forward ?

I watched Billingsley last night and he was blocking his arse off. I think he’s turning the corner and figuring it out. He was playing as part of the team this weekend and not as a pouting child. I hope he gets rewarded with some targets next game.

We have almost a month.. young players seem to always emerge during this period and end up showing out.

tailor made redemption opportunity for Billingsley. not a true receiver but I know he can block and I trust him in big spots.

I at least take some comfort in the fact that we have time to prepare for Metchie’s absence. Not that we can replace him, but we can adjust and get the other guys ready to play to the best of their ability.

Metchie is a very good receiver but on curl routes he will often take a couple steps back to try to elude the defender, trying to make a bigger play. Sometimes that has turned what could have been a first down into a 2nd, 3rd or 4th down.

I fully agree with this. I think some here are understating how important Metchie is, but Williams is the only guy on the roster that can blow the top off any defense.

Metchie was Bryces security blanket.

In the Spring when Metchie was out, Holden was by far. I want to say he had 13-14 targets in A Day. It was obvious that they had chemistry from Scout team the year before.
