Jason Garrett, Saban gave him his coaching start at Miami.

I'm from Jacksonville, originally... Well, more like Pleasant Valley.

Fun fact: Freddie Kitchens got arrested for punching a guy at Pelham's bar in Jacksonville in 1995 and was suspended for the first 2 games of the season.

So I practically know him and he should be our next OC.

I don’t see Freddie as the kind of guy that would take to Saban riding his arse 14 hours a day. Am I wrong?

Brian Johnson, Florida

Back up the flat bed. He has lit our defense on fire twice.

Spent some time there but more in Brothers back in the 80s and 90s. I’m from Piedmont originally.

'Ol Pete has got to be hoping Saban hires someone who underperforms just a little to take some heat off of him. Ha!

Some of the names out there:
- Tom Herman (former HC/Texas, OC at Ohio State). But he may just move to another HC position.
- Jeff Lebby (OC at Ole Miss under Kiffin).
- Brian Johnson (OC and QB at Florida under Mullen).
- Mark Helfrich (former HC, OC at Oregon under Chip Kelly, though Kelly did the play calling), currently a tv analyst.

Other names:
-Shane Day (QB coach 49-ers), mentioned on this board. Has no OC experience at the college level.
-Chip Long (former OC at Notre Dame). From Alabama. Had talks with Saban before Daboll was hired. Not a hot name anymore.
-Kevin Wilson (OC at Ohio State). Would be a lateral move for him, although Bama coaches get hired as HC at a higher rate than anywhere else.
-Adam Gase (cause of his old Saban ties?)

I think it's the exact opposite. Ol Petey praying he finds a home run so it takes some of the pressure off his mediocre defense

Wasn't there a report that the Sark deal has been in the works for a few weeks? If true Saban gotta have a good lead on a few guys. We won't know who for a while though still.

Mullen is running that offense and calling plays. Johnson is very much and unknown commodity.

I would bet it's none of these guys.

I also think Saban has bought in heavily to having a great QB coach so I believe the guy will most likely be a QB coach and OC.

I think based on how this played out it almost had to have been. I think Sark knew about this before the SEC title game. I think that’s why he refused to even interview at AU. Plus it seems like UT had everything lined up to start releasing this stuff the day after our semifinal game (possibly at Sark’s request).

Did Dan Enos burn too many bridges on the way out? He seems to be really good with QBs historically.

Dan burned all the bridges he could find. I doubt he'd even be allowed in the building, much less on the coaching staff.

I'm pretty sure we can pay Freeze more than he's making at Liberty and going through Saban's Alabama Rehab program would probably be good for his career

Freeze is making $3 million. Liberty actually has a lot of money. It's one of the perks of being a televangelist scam hiding behind the facade of a university.

That’s what I thought about Lance Thompson but he’s been hired like seventeen times now. I don’t know where he’s even coaching now but he’s got to be on an SEC staff somewhere, right? I think it’s the law.

Edit - I think he’s at FAU now.

I just Googled “Lance Thompson football coach” and on just the first page of results there were pages linking him to Alabam, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, and LSU.
