I saw some pretty decent seats for a $100 yesterday. That's wild for a night game between Georgia and BAMA. Thank you James Spann and the panickans.

Katrian knocked out power around Tuscaloosa for about week.

Rick Karle even piggybacked on Spann’s “concern.”

That crowd is nothing but engagement farmers.

from what I've seen Spann is one of the more level headed ones out there and he's been consistent over the last 6 hours saying it'll probably be west and the worst will be gone by kickoff.

Compare that to the social media people calling for it to move to another venue or eat up both teams' bye weeks...

Spann is a straight shooter and doesn't do anything for clicks.

For sure. He would also never lecture people about the dangers lightening at sporting events and then use the lightening delay at BDS to create funny social media content on the field.

You mean the weatherman that was talking yesterday like he had the authority to move/cancel the football game?

Somebody said it on here but he really is Alabama’s version of Dr. Fauci. It was the most true thing I’ve ever read on this site. The parallels are uncanny.

I've lived in Alabama for a few yeras now so while I dont' have a lifetime of folloiwng the guy like many of you do, I think I've seen more of him than your average joe that doesn't live here.

And I just don't really see the fauci comparisons in any way whatsover. Spann repeatedly goes out of his way on social media to disspell the insane rumor mongering that influencers put out and call for catastrophic events every other week. Even now, with this storm, he has constantly just said "here's what we know now, it'll change a lot, but this is where we're at" and as recently as a few hours ago said the storm is likely pushing west and ttown will be fine by kickoff.

Not really sure how that compares to the biggest fear mongering mass murder of the century

Galileo was tried as a heretic. People who don’t understand science consider it an affront. Nothing new under the sun.

Don’t want to derail the thread anymore but Spann goes the extra mile to make himself part of the story and doesn’t like detractors. He even goes as far as doxxing people and calling employers of people who have disagreed with him. He was straight up shaming people who suggested snow/ice leading up to Snowmageddon.

Basically the parallels are they have been very successful at building a brand, making a lot of people trust them, and creating the dynamic that pushing back at all is questioning the science. They both have an unhealthy obsession about their public perception and being a celebrity.

This is from living in Bham for most of my life and knowing people who have worked with Spann.

John Hope he is not.

…and potential crazy hurricane force gusts and wind, and who knows about flash flooding. Though I have confidence in Keelon’s spiral, I think his throws would be stronger than Gunner’s.

I think Helene a couple years ago was a disaster when it made landfall from just the storm lulling and pouring buckets.
