I feel like a lot of the reason our defense is allowing fewer points is due to the offense's ball control but they are making some plays.
Stopping UT's offense comes down to limiting the splash play TDs. They score so many points off the defense making one big mistake outside or on a run fit in against the light boxes they force due to the wide splits.
Alabama gave up one of those TDs tonight. Otherwise, they made Tennessee go down the field and execute.
It wasn't perfect but between our ball control and the defense mostly executing bend-but-don't-break succeeded in the #1 goal when playing the Vols.

Defense played great minus Lawson again. All he’s in there for is to make calls. He’s absolutely atrocious.

100%. We were up 3 scores. People yelling about prevent is just stupid. The only thing more stupid is wasting a TO to save 10 seconds.

Daniel hill in just this limited play showed to be far better than Jam at running between the tackles

Running up the middle is tough with these guards, but I also don’t them taking the handoff and then running sideways. So a toss makes the most sense.

Another game with limited penalties 4-38. That’s a huge factor they corrected

Hill has been banged up, but Grubb seemingly likes him a lot.
Jam is what he is.
I'm thinking AK Dear is our best RB, but he doesn't have the protections down.
