So what. Let the board melt. Means nothing.
Cig's first press conference would've set shite straight.
Everyone: Oh damn, ok, I get it now. Sounds exactly like Saban. The process continues. He helped build the og culture at Bama, he gets it, knows what it takes. Makes sense.

Not saying he should've hired him obviously, BUT he should crossed him off the list by doing some advanced research on the guy (and others) FIRST before going outside the Saban tree for this very situation we're in currently (Cig looks like the perfect Bama fit).
Anyway, the hire was the most important of Byrne's career, he knew it was coming and rushed it bc he wasn't prepared imo.

Meh I doubt it. It's Byrne's job to hire the best fit, not just a name.
Also Bama fans know ball and aren't babies like Tennessee when they tried to hire Schiano lol

Byrne should've done due diligence on all the former Saban assistants (present head coaches) PRIOR to his retirement, making a pressure decision a bit easier and a more seemless transition in philosophy in the event of a sudden retirement to cover his arse.
At minimum he should've interviewed/ gaged interest with Cignetti and his agent well in advance.
He might've realized- holy shite, this guy sounds, acts, and coaches exactly like Nick. He could be the perfect guy

No idea.
Does anyone know what the identity of a DeBoer team actually is??
I thought coming in he was a offensive guru type guy- play fast, prioritize skill, progressive scheme, develop underrated talent.
Now I have no clue which is hard to project what portal guys are a fit

Unless you're going to a place like Indiana to get DEVELOPED, not just chasing the highest bid but an actual opportunity to get better

I will not miss watching Lawson play inside linebacker. He's atrocious
New O-line, Special Teams and RB coach for starters.
Completely unacceptable. Zero development.

He had the RB twice in a row, wide open to his left in the flat. WTF is he doing????!!

I thought Mincey was a 5-star, that angle was horrific
CALL A frickING SCREEN PASS GRUBB!!!
Thing I don't get why doesn't Grubb call a screen pass once in awhile to negate all the blitz calls by Durkin.
Grubb refuses to call it, it's mind boggling

Crowell's talent can't be wasted with Gillespie. Debo needs to make a homerun hire for a new RB coach after this season.
Gillespie might be a decent recruiter but his development and production has been abysmal

If Carroll hasn't played then shite, that's on DeBoer. This crap O-line will expose us sooner than later anyway, but might as well get the younger guy experience

Grubb should call plays for TE's way more often, it's easy pitch and catch for Ty
Guarantee Lawson won't be drafted, he's absolute dog shite. Guy went from a potential 1st rounder two years ago, to making 60k in the CFL
Unless Ty changed the play, YOU HAVE TO CALL RUN PLAYS GRUBB!!!
