Clemson -15 vs A&M

I'm not a betting man, but I'd be sorely tempted to take A&M at that line. I'm not convinced Clemson's defense will be anywhere near as good as last year's, and A&M easily could have won the 2018 game.

Wasn’t that due to a massive comeback? Wasn’t Clemson up big and let off the gas, which allowed A&M to come storming back and damn near win?

A&M will not be able to stop Clemson on offense. Clemson will put 50 plus on them.

It was 21-6 Clemson late in the third, but A&M owned the 4th quarter. They also kept the ball for something like 35 minutes total, outgained Clemson for the game, and had a couple of turnovers.

Clemson's offense will be elite, but I think A&M's defense has improved enough to keep the game within reach. The question, I think, is how much Clemson's defense will be affected by their losses.

Trevor Lawrence was also not the starting qb at that time.

Many arrived over the weekend with Official move in on Monday 5/27... because some schools will not have graduation until 1st week of June, others (ie Trey Sanders - IMG) will come in around 6/3

As noted in an earlier article by Hank South: "12 remaining signees will enroll after graduating next month (typically most arrive Memorial Day weekend)."

Was a weird game to say the least. Clemson was up 14-6 in the 3rd when Mond scrambled for like 40+ yards and got a cramp that caused him to leave the game. aTm backup QB on the next play fumbled the ball. CU went down and scored in the next few plays. But aTm still had a chance to win but fumbled the ball that resulted in a touch back.

And yes Lawrence was not yet the starting QB but aTm out gained CU offense with over 500+ yards on that great D of theirs and aTm returns all their play makers.

I would be tempted to put money on the aggies for the game.

This is nonsense. Granted, defense is TexAM's weaker side of the football, but their offense will likely be somewhere between very, very good and elite, meaning TexAM will keep the football enough for Clemson not to be able to get to 50 points for that reason alone.

Granted, in this game, both offenses should better than both defenses, and maybe by a wide margin for both teams, which could lead to a shootout. In a shootout, I could see Clemson getting to 50 points. However, in that scenario, TexAM will likely have about 50 as well.

My point is that while Clemson is at home and ought to win the game, there isn't a significant difference between these 2 teams. Both will have great offenses whose strength is the plethora of playmakers at the skill positions, most notably WR. Both defenses will be looking to build depth and experience in September due to losing most of their front-7 playmakers.

But remember, Clemson lost their top 5 defensive lineman (4 starters and top backup), 2 of their 3 starting LBs, and one LB who was slated to start in the fall at ILB is transferring, likely to Maryland. Clemson is going to take a HUGE step back on their front-7, which is a massive deal considering how early this game will be played (Sep 7). Clemson has also lost their top 3 TEs over the last 2 years, don't have anyone close waiting in the wings, and Dabo admitted that their whole offense is predicated on the TE - he directly said as much during their spring game. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if TexAM wins the ballgame. This one is pretty even, with Clemson having the advantage of playing at home.

Too many folks are over-estimating Clemson because of the point differential in the last game - Clemson played a great game and outcoached a Bama team that laid an egg inside the 10 yard line. Nothing more. Sure, they are one of the best teams in CFB, but to act like Clemson is in come stratosphere all their own is nonsense.

Clemson is the better team by a little and are at home, but TexAM is not far away.

Clemson and Alabama are light years ahead of Texas A&M right now.

Bama and Clemson are great at passing the ball, which is A&M biggest weakness.

Bama and Clemson are in a class by themselves in football right now. With Georgia knocking on the door.

Incorrect.

Horribly, laughably incorrect. TexAM was the 29th best passing team in all of CFB last year, according to S&P+. Perhaps you are confusing it with their biggest weakness last year, which was pass defense. Either way, what you just said was stupid, laughable, and demonstrably incorrect. Hell, TexAm had the 10th best offense in all of CFB last year.

This is correct.

EDIT: Let's be clear - I'm not calling you stupid, just what you said.

Yeah, ment to say pass defense is A&M weakness.

I may be wrong, but I don't think A&M has a chance in hell to stay within 21 points of Clemson this year.

I hope A&M wins the game because Clemson plays nobody else regular season, but I don't expect it to happen. I just don't really think A&M can be really good on offense, because I don't think their QB is good enough to be that.

Yes sir... giving then an even easier schedule... take the hard teams and play them at home...
it's aTm's 2nd game (1st against Texas State San Marcos) and I hope Jimbo doesnt even take time to prepare for Tex St.... just crank the entire fall camp getting prepared for CU...
