What kind of assault riffle rigs do you guys have? Any body use Daniel Defense stuff? I don't know if you can do much better.

DD is top of the line no doubt, but the price tag is high and I really can’t justify the cost when I can build one cheaper for what I need. I have two Colts. Sp1 and a LE

Now I’d love to have FN SCAR but that’s 4g’s and once again can’t justify it when I can build a 7.62 cheaper for what I need

I am not too big on buying complete rifles. I have built so many over the years, I am confident with the right pieces I can do just as well as guys turning out 30+ guns a day. I do have a factory built PWS mk116 that I like shooting suppressed a lot. Really fun 5.56 gun to run with a can. Minimum back pressure or gas to the face. My go to setup is a BCM 12.5. Literally getting close to 10K rounds on it and it just runs.

9mm S&W M&P Shield IWB, and a Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP in an ankle holster.

I generally always carry my "fake wallet."

Just an old Beretta 418 .25 ACP Panther in my back pocket.

I've carried it since college. Sliced the shite out of hand the first time I ever fired it. Not as much punch, but it's prepared to meet its purpose if needed.

Lady gun or not, it was good enough for James Bond before he switched to the Walther PPK.

The vast majority of people (like me) will never run an AR hard enough or long enough to see the benefits of a Daniel Defense over something from somewhere like Palmetto State Armory.

My current is an SBR I put together from a few places. Basically custom down to stamping the steel. It’s a nice street howitzer, suppressed, easy to handle and is a nice escalation device. My concealed carry is just to get me to that.

Do you carry that in your vehicle?

This particular one I do. I have basically the same thing in the house. I’ve always wanted to have an equalizer available when I'm out if ever needed. From my background jobs I haven’t had anything happen in public while not in some active warzone or situation you know you’re walking into but I’ve always wanted a tool to have a chance for me and the family if I do. Some people probably think it’s overkill but god I’d hate to think I could have made a difference had I had the tools to do so.

So, aren't there some pretty overkill rules concerning SBRs? Are there issues with having one in your vehicle? Can they truly charge you if you aren't in the vehicle while the gun is in the vehicle so that it is technically out of your possession?

Alabama and several other states don't allow SBRs correct?

I’m not positive on that honestly, I have a locked safe under seat in the truck. I think in FL the possession does apply I do have my vehicle garaged at home so it’s secure there. I guess in theory someone could steal the truck, break the safe and use it. I’d be liable.

Is there a particular reason you wouldn’t go with a regular M4 with perhaps a folding stock or slide stock? Also, I hear of people putting cans on M4s, but is there some value to that outside of noise reduction. Is noise reduction that important in a gun fight?
