Then I hope they call it soon.

I figure preparations are already in the works to play it on Friday if that ends up being the call. The storm forecast will become more accurate tonight and Thursday morning.

I don't remember an Alabama game getting moved that often. Seems like years ago a Texas A&M game in College Station got moved to later in the season. The only one I remember.

One of the guys on wjox said he called over to Ole Miss and asked about the game. They said the game is still on. Nothing has changed. And the SEC office is against moving to a different venue due to covid protocols. Ole Miss might want to play under terrible conditions. The great equalizer is bad weather.

People keep saying this, but I don't think bad weather is an equalizer here. Kiffin's offense benefits from a fast, dry track. I believe we're in a much better position to play an ugly, grind it out game than Ole Miss.

They have definitely been poor against the run.

We share a bye week, but I'd much rather see this game played Friday.

Doesn't sound bad enough to cancel a football game even though it could be messy and wet.

Sounds like football weather. Sloppy and wet could slow down Kiffin's scheme

The chances of getting through this schedule without a COVID incident seems impossible. The bye week would be nice to have in your pocket.

I'm still not convinced that if the SEC has to permanently cancel a couple of games that its that big of a deal to be judged by an 8 game conference schedule. I just don't think all 10 games have to be made up.

You don't even have the factor of a lot of fans traveling to the game. Based on forecasts it's going to be RAIN. You don't cancel football over rain!

Be prepared for this, it's the easy way out.

It is and Friday night is looking almost as bad as Saturday. So would moving it to Friday really help?

If it’s rain we play, if it’s a storm and 40MPH winds I’m sure they will move it. I hate losing the bye week though.

More recently, they moved the Ga State game around 2011 or 2012 to Thursday night. But that wasn't because of weather or anything.

One advantage to playing Friday night, although it may be minor, it gives an extra day of recovery and preparation for Georgia, assuming we take care of business with Ole Miss.

Date of Alabama-Ole Miss game could be changed due to Hurricane Delta (AL.com)

quote:

The conference is currently looking into alternative dates for the Alabama-Ole Miss game that’s scheduled to be played Saturday evening in Oxford, Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

The three alternative dates being looked at for the game are Friday, Sunday and later in the season. Playing on Saturday still remains a possibility too, according to Kiffin.

“I don’t think we’ll know until tomorrow for sure,” Kiffin said. “I think they’re kind of holding off on the most accurate weather we can get and figure it out.”
