Looks like heavy rain in Oxford Saturday. Is there serious talk of moving the location? Would seem to be more feasible these days with no tailgating on campus and very limited attendance. If it's played in Oxford, could be a sloppy, messy game and they say weather can be an equalizer. Ball security will be huge. Personally, I wish they'd move it to Atlanta.

They will probably wait a few more days... hurricane tracks that shift the slightest now can change it hundreds of miles in 5 days

Problem is short of moving it to Atlanta based on current track both schools are within the cone for the storm.

I doubt they'll change the location or reschedule to the shared bye week. Those options create issues. The least complicated option is probably to play it in Oxford on Friday evening before the storm makes it's way inland.

That makes sense for HS games. The goal for the UA @ OM game should be to get it played safely in Oxford this weekend if possible.

Last I saw this far north in Ms was like a 30% chance of winds up to 30mph.... mostly rain I thought

And Oxford is north of me

EDIT: wife said EMA people getting storm shelters ready a little south of me and one model shows 40-60mph winds and 4-8” rain ..... who the hell knows

They're going to reschedule it and I'm not happy about it.

It's a easy fix, play the game Friday afternoon.

Bama flies in Friday morning and flies back to T-Town after the game.

Leave it to the SEC to screw it up though.

Remember, Hurricane Sally was going west of NOLA until it hit the gulf and shifted east hour by hour until that bitch rammed Orange Beach, Pensacola, and Mobile Bay in the arse.

We really don't know where this thing will go until tomorrow night, at the earliest.

Speaking from Fairhope, please stay west. We can't handle another.

My birthday is Saturday and I was looking forward to sitting at the house and watching Saban vs Kiffin. Gonna suck if it’s cancelled. I’d be fine with it being moved up a day tho.

Amen. I've still gotta get on my roof and clean up lots of tree debris Sally dumped up there.

This is the updated forecast for Oxford Sat evening:

Tropical storm conditions possible. Periods of rain. Low 64F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Rainfall near a half an inch.

Doesn't sound bad enough to cancel a football game even though it could be messy and wet.

Center of storm is projected to be near MS/TN border at kickoff time. A Fri evening kickoff seems like a good move.

I guess we can rule out moving the game to Tuscaloosa. Looks like neither is much of an advantage. I'd rather play Sunday at this point.

Playing it in Oxford on Fri. before the storm arrives is better than playing it during or following the storm.

Then I hope they call it soon.
