It’s hard for 20 year old millionaires to get real excited for a football game at the collegiate level

Yeah, I think we just had a lot of anxiety... the intensity wasn't where it needed to be.

I’m speechless. Don’t really know what to say about that.

It appeared to me it took all Saban had to hold back about the refs. And he did turn in plays to the SEC office. I am sure they will find inconsistencies in fouls there.

I'm guessing he's speaking to the penalties and mental errors that keep shooting the team in the foot. . Yes, the crowd has an effect, but at some point it's just discipline.

False starts, illegal blocks, holding, illegal formations, etc. I think he could live with the PIs. But, STs errors and repeated self-inflected dumb shite are going to give him an aneurysm

Anxiety????

This was supposed to be a veteran defense and this is a program coming off playing in the SECCG and NC... going to freakin' Knoxville created anxiety?

Sounds as soft as baby shite. For years Bama fed off hostility and it only made them play even better.

Saban doesn’t have the intensity on the sideline like he used to, so why should the players?

Saban is most vocal/intense when a team is doing well and makes (even small) mistakes, because he can't stand complacency.

He's less likely to pile-on when things aren't going so well. That's when he's likely to turn positive to try and build the players back up.

Tense when they're winning, supportive when they're losing — it may seem counterintuitive, but it's just his style.

This team had a lot of expectations for themselves after the way the NCG went. And, a ton more of expectations have been thrust upon them from fans and media. The longer they go undefeated, the higher the pressure becomes.

Plus, I think they know they haven't played well, which only adds more pressure to perform.

And, Knoxville in this game carried its own pressure.

I think the anxiety was warranted, but it's how you manage that nervous energy that matters. Apparently, some keep choosing to let it manifest into mental errors and tight play.

Last time I checked, he's the one who decides who plays and has every game.

Maybe the PC is not the place to speak about the coaching decisions but getting tired of it all being placed on the players. They certainly share the blame but we have some serious coaching issues.

If you write the recipe and the food taste like shite, don't blame the ingredients.

I mean what good does that do? I’m sure every team does that and the SEC probably gives a token “We’ll look into it.”

The crew from Saturday was friggin’ suspended two years ago and now they’re calling the game of the year in the SEC. There’s zero accountability or recourse.

We need Peter Doocy from FoxNews at the presser!

No kidding. It's like MLB putting Angel Hernandez behind the plate for game 7 of the World Series.

Why do you guys think he will call out a player or a coach.

I don't expect him to do it in a press conference, but I wish he would get after Golding on the sideline. He did it to Kiffin several times and Kiffin was actually good at his job unlike Golding.

One theory is that he feels like he runs coordinators off when he chews them out on the sideline on national TV, and he is trying to limit turnover. Which limiting turnover is a good thing, but not when everyone wants the turn to be over

LOL......

It's always on the players, never on the coaches.
