Nick Saban sends a strong message to his players after a 52-49 loss to Tennessee:

“We can’t continue to tolerate guys that aren’t doing the things they need to do to be successful. Nobody is entitled to a position.”

Which players do you think Nick could be talking about here?

Unless you're Pete Golding or Bill O'Brien.

Probably the same ones who he has been talking about all season but won't bench.

Seems like every time they lose he mentions the players being really tense before the game. And he mentioned they were not chanting coming out of the locker room as they typically do. Strange.

How about coaches that aren’t doing their damn jobs. They get a pass? At some point the coaches need to say that shitty performance was on us. Our talent level is fine. Our scheme on offense and defense is NOT!

Why is no one asking question about our playcalling on both sides of the ball in key situations?

Saban should be looking in the mirror! He and his assistant coaches recruit, sign, motivate and train these players!

Not trying to pick on anyone specifically, but how many mental errors has Traeshon Holden made this year, for example?

Didn’t he have three penalties and a drop this week?

I said this last week. How in the world do we not have beat writers with some nuts to ask tough questions?

He may not talk about it in a PC, but I sure hope Saban contacted the SEC office about officiating.

Saban ran them off or they were ridiculed until they quit asking those questions.

He's talking about the players... not the coaches.

Seem like he's addressing the WR group.

u dont discuss coaches in a setting like this. Why do you guys think he will call out a player or a coach. the O scored 42 so it is hard to fault the O coaches. You could fault every D coach and player when you give up 52

Will Anderson's response to that comment from Saban is pretty telling:
quote:

Yeah, I think we just had a lot of anxiety... the intensity wasn't where it needed to be.

You’ll never see Saban complain about the refs out side of a vague statement every now and then. He knows that if he does it in a PC, then the story becomes “Saban whines about the refs” instead of the actual crappy refs and the players will think that it’s ok to dwell on external factors like that.

That said, I hope we did contact the SEC office with some fire & brimstone because clearly there’s an anti-UA mindset among officials. I’m sure they get contacted every week though and clearly there’s no incentive for them to do anything. The last thing Sankey wants is for there to be any kind of blemish on the conference.

Well, he allowed Billingsley to play 14 games last year and the guy loafed all 14.

That's actually infuriating to hear.

If you can't get up for what was essentially a Top 5 match-up against a rival, after two close calls already this season, what in the heck are you waiting for?
