The amount of people from Indiana, Michigan and Illinois that drive down 65 to the beach is absurd. The drive back from Louisville that should have taken 5ish hours took 6 just because of the sheer volume of cars. And not one of those upper Midwest assholes is a good driver. Everybody has their luggage topper and 2-3 bikes on the back of their car and either so much shite piled up, or kids in the backseat that they can’t see out the window.

fricking ridiculous.

Fortunately I have cultivated a life where I don’t have to drive on 65 very much. Today was a good reminder as to why

I didn’t see many Ohio today. I’m guessing spring break starts this week for Indiana and Michigan. It was like every third car was from one of those.

Always an unexpected pleasure when a sad drive home takes extra time because of traffic

It’s one thing if there is a wreck or construction, shite happens. But this was just a bunch of midwestern assholes headed to the beach

Hope they all get a nice sunburn

During Spring Break and the Summer, I-65 is disaster on the weekends. Avoid it at all costs. King of glad I’m not driving to up to Louisville today.

Miss the days when the panhandle/Gulf Shores was mostly just an AL, GA, and Miss destination.

Figured that reply was coming

Took a job in Missouri right after school and registered here not long after that.

Lasted a year and a half there then moved back to Alabama. Looking back, this username was pretty short-sighted

Im just messing with you, as someone who lives in Huntsville. The drive down to the beach on 65 is now one of the worst things going on. I think the key is to wake up before the sunrise and get south of Montgomery

Not a lot of relief past Montgomery either. Most exit at Georgiana, Al and drive thru Andalusia on the way to Ft Walton/Destin areas. Traffic is a nightmare from the exit all the way to the beach from there. River Falls & Andalusia gets very congested! We try to avoid these areas at all cost if possible.

They'll come soon, and believe me, they're unfathomable during spring break

Georgiana to Montgomery is a death trap in the summertime and it’s gotten really bad over the last several years.

The worst thing to ever happen to the gulf was the oil spill. Not just the oil, but the millions and millions of BP money spent on advertising to people in those places and Texas.

Bro, have you driven in Mississippi? Every person I pass going to work is looking down at their phone, even the police. People drive in the left lane like they are the only people on the road.

The State of Alabama needs to get its stuff together and widen the interstate. There are so many accidents and congestion because there are only two lanes. This isn't 1990 anymore. Northerners have discovered the Gulf Coast and have been taking it over for years now. The infrastructure is awful.
