Tl:dr version - Jackson Lloyd is a monster, Waldrep needs to work on his footwork, we struggle with slants

Waldrep struggles with more than just footwork. He struggled getting beat in pass protection inside several times by just not being quick enough.
He’s not ready to play yet and we have to really hope we don’t get an injury along the line if he’s our next guard up.

With Carroll back we just need to get one of the two LGs to play competent football and we could end up with a very good OL. They had moments against Kentucky where they showed potential, they’re just not there yet.

Waldrep made some progress and the coaches gave him some love but clearly Sanders is the guy.

Extremely encouraging. There is legitimate hope for this group to be really solid - especially when you toss in the tight end room. We haven't had that many runs in a row like we did in the 4th without somebody screwing up and giving up a TFL or 0 yard run in 3-4 years ----- and I'm talking about against anybody, including EIU, ULM, etc.
Klemm and Owens have done work with these guys.

The Film Guy was raving about Lloyd too, might have us a future NFL LT for the next two years

Its getting to the point we need nothing but a penalty review of the refs each week. This week in particular.

There were some weird or terrible calls on Saturday.

I thought Ford, Waldrep and James struggles in the game at times. Especially the first half.
But the hold call on James was a crock a shite. As big a crock a shite as the hold call the week before that brought Browns td back. I do t remember that officiating crew before but maybe I’ve just forgot about them but they fricking suck.
Derek radius is a pretty good blocking receiver. I like that

EIU and ULM were the only two teams we rushed for more than 150 against last year I think. Both effectively FCS rosters. The fact that the run game appears capable of producing explosive plays and closing out a game against any FBS defenses at all, even mediocre ones, is a vast improvement.

Agree…this year’s OL so far looks vastly improved & has the potential to be really good by mid season. I noticed in the 2 film reviews, there were several times when only a single block kept the play from gaining huge yardage. If they get that fixed as this line matures, this offense can be explosive as we get further into the season. The OL and TE group have more of a nasty demeanor than in the recent past, good to see.

You mean one year with us and a year with Texas/OSU or Oregon. Hopefully not, but it’s a $$$ game. I will consider any downvotes for the system and not for me.
