Offense players jumping ship... Is Bill O'Brien the reason?

Mass exodus of offense players. NFL players didn't like playing for boob. Are we seeing a mass exit because of Bill? Who's got some inside knowledge around here?

I would think if he was the reason, the mass exodus would be a sign he's staying.

Hopefully it's that they like him and he's getting fired, or it's just unrelated.

Highly likely it’s unrelated.. a lot of teams have a lot of people hitting the portal. 95% of the people hitting the portal from Alabama I would say is addition by subtraction.

I hold faith both B.O.B and Golding will be gone and think the people transferring have nothing to do with them but more so they see the writing on the wall that their playing time will be limited to none here.

NO.

Saban is overhauling the offense. He wants to go back to physical running game. and some people have lost their spots to freshmen.

The ones that are leaving are not what I would consider impact players.

I've been saying this all season we are going to try to bring in close to 40 guys between portal and recruiting class. So far these all look like cuts to me and I expect more. If you aren't playing or in line to play after your SO season time to go. It's gonna be like basketball roster management now after they approved oversigning and the portal.

Can you share where you've read or heard that he is doing that? I haven't heard/seen a thing about any changes. It's been crickets minus the transfers.

Reasons to go into the transfer portal:

1a. Not getting any playing time.
1b. I want to see if I can get more NIL money. If not, I will pull my name back out.
3. I hate BoB.

You're probably right.
Interesting fact that more Olinemen and receivers "Jumped" than any other position. I believe that proves Saban knows Alabama can't compete against the elites without a huge improvement in the Oline and receiving corp.
Things are about to get "interesting".

The skill players leaving have all been passed or were getting pushed hard by other younger players, not sure how people thought the numbers were going to work without a mass exodus at a few positions?

We haven’t lost a single player that was guaranteed to start next year or who has as much potential as Drew Sanders last year.

Probably best to let this play out.

Reason for quitting could be next Ala qb isnt Bryce Young.
I have not seen who are quitting any that concern me, though.

It’s mostly players that know they’ve hit their ceilings and probably won’t play with incoming/current talent. Some of them played/started, but they don’t want to keep competing when there’s no guarantee. Typical reason for transferring…

Saban has said it the last two springs. He wants to be more physical. Without BY, it is more likely to happen.

I haven’t seen or heard that but I did hear he wants to go back to more RPO and that it was what Simpson ran in high school

How do you get to 340# as a senior in high school?
When I was in high school 195# was a huge player. We had one that went 210#. He grew up a pulp wooder. Mussels on top of mussels.
Ok, that was several years ago…
