If it is Sark. I guarantee Saban is still at practice on a regular basis and possibly in the locker room on Gameday. I just think the recruiting part is what he can’t do anymore

Sorry, but no coach would want that.

Pretty sure Harbaugh, Smart, Swinney and Brown are the only 3 active coaches who've actually won a championship. Meanwhile Stoops, Meyer and Miles are doing nothing atm

This is what happens when one coach dominates for so long, on top of LSU and Auburn hiring absolute goobers who inexplicably win a championship

I’m not talking about having input in these things I’m talking about just being there to still feel like he is part of the team

Whoever the new coach is, they need Saban to be away from the day to day for a while. The players needs to know the new coach is in charge and having Saban there, with the relationships with the players, could undermine that.

Right. I could see Saban going to games and doing motivational speeches from time to time. Saban will be doing espn and sec network appearances for a nice paycheck probably

The best thing Saban can do is go away for a while. He's smart enough to know that.

That would certainly explain Bo Davis moving laterally to LSU. Sark told him he was leaving and Bo knew he couldn’t come with him so he’s a Tiga now.

yeah. You’re right. I imagine he knows this and will only try to interject to help.
He knows when to be cordial to people and not step on toes. We’ll be lucky having him around in some capacity.

I was just thinking, when Saban came in here, he came across as a real hard arse, no nonsense, rough son of a gun. But as the years passed it became more and more appparent what a really good dude he was. He seemd to relax into the role and accept the genuine appreciation people felt for him.

I'm very happy that he and his family developed a deep love for and attachment to the University and I truely hope he feels the love and support that these Bama people are sending his way.

People laugh at the "rednecks" placing mementos being placed around his statue, but I don't think it's funny or inappropriate . It's their way of informing him that he played an important and meaningful role in their lives.

People actually felt grief and cried yesterday. They felt loss, just like 40 years ago.

There is no better place on earth for the right kind of guy than good old T Town.

I can see him wanting to stick around to keep the boosters in check for the next coach. That's been a long forgotten battle that he won, keeping the rogue boosters away from the program. It'd be great if he stuck around a kept that curtain up.

Hard to win a conference championship at Notre Dame lmao. He made the playoffs there though.

No surprise there. Hopefully these kids understand (and are being encouraged by Saban) to wait for the new hire before evaluating transfer opportunities. The program itself doesn't change (facilities, player support programs, player investment, NIL)... just the dude in charge. If we hire another elite coach, even if they aren't the GOAT, they have an incredible foundation to start with...

IF it's Sark (BIG IF), do we change his saying, "All gas, no brakes" to "All LANK, no STANK"?
