The New Testament affirms that God instituted government and that it bears the sword for a reason (Romans 13:1-7). Government, doing what it is supposed to do according to God, protects the innocent and punishes those that do evil. That is one of its purposes. Those verses in Scripture is why I’m very much for capital punishment. Government doing its job actually restrains evildoers in that way while protecting those that are living lawfully.

It’s about putting people that have the same mindset to implement what the people voted for. You can’t have some in an important position that is fighting against the agenda you are trying to accomplish. It’s common sense.
