Alabama is not a lateral move

Yeah, but he’s done that in the PAC 12. I know Lanning is in the PAC 12, too, but Lanning has demonstrated his recruiting abilities. Will DeBoer be able to recruit at the level necessary to win at Alabama?

Not sure. I have my reservations about DeBoer. Frankly, I thought Washington was a pretender until they beat Texas. I have reservations about any named candidate. But I think the suggestion that Kiffin is somehow a better hire than DeBoer based on what we know today is hard to agree with. Kiffin hasn't recruited well either. He claims to be the portal king to make up for it, but he just lost arguably his best player to the portal.

We are talking about Lane, right? This was not surprising. He could not, and probably still can't, help himself. Always fun to watch him celebrate TDs before they were scored.

Should have beaten Clemson in 2017. When up by two scores in the 4th. Why not keep running the ball?

Sark was calling that game, FWIW.

Lanning is liking tweets on twitter that he hasn't been in Tuscaloosa all week. I think it's safe to say now he wasn't there. Byrne is gonna be super tight lipped about all of this. It's gonna be interesting.

Oregon fans always think of themselves as a blueblood, though absolutely no one else agrees with them. Their stadium sits 54k. They're closer to programs like Kansas State than to Alabama.

I’m not sure why anyone ever thought he needed to be in Tuscaloosa to actually be the guy.

Guys I have a few connections to Lanning and his family. This decision is not going to come down to “resources” Bama has plenty. At the end of the day if Lanning could pick any job in the country it would be Georgia or Alabama. He wants to be in the south, closer to his friends and family. This does not mean he is guaranteed to take the job, buyout, following Saban etc. are all factors but the ones pointing out Oregon’s resources are missing the boat. They have always had those resources and every coach they have had besides one has left it.

I just watched a video of Saban saying that as far as on the field coaching and responding on the fly to what the defense was doing, Kiffin was the best he ever saw.

The guys last night that were all in on “Lanning is a done deal and is on his way to town” sure are quiet right now.

Oregon is a growing program and they have great resources, being In The BIG 10 helps but it’s still Oregon. Middle of nowhere with no history of winning a national championship. It’s a top 10 top 12 job. Bama is a top 5 Job every coach especially one that has cut his teeth in the south knows that.

Give up, people aren't following along. They are not turning the page when they hear the chimes.

Rumor is that judkins was a locker room nightmare and asked to hit the bricks.
