Seems 48 hours ago you were telling us you knew who the HC was?

Maybe I am mistaken.

So why are we so upset again?

It's the microwave culture!! Everybody was sure a successor was already hired as soon as Coach Saban announced his retirement. And now we're not even TWO full days into who the AD wanted on his list and the ship is sinking!! I would imagine the staff is keeping the players informed since we haven't seen a mass exodus from them.

Man our hiring has sucked the last couple years.

The Patriots fire Belicheck and have a plan in place and hire Jerod Mayo.

While we still seem lost on the dark and judging from hires we made the last couple of years (Rees, BOB, Maroney, etc).. I'm losing confidence by the minute and I can't even imagine how low the confidence of the players are.

Coaching changes in college suck the uncertainty kills you and I know from experience. Only ends well if we get the guy

We are still in the original window that Byrne promised ... 72 hours

I'm losing it after reading 130 pages... when did he say this again? I just can't find where he directly said 72 hours.

Some of y’all need to take your prozac and xanax and settle the frick down. You’re losing your mind and marking Sark off the list because of some damn generic post on social media and Sark probably doesn’t even run the account. Let Byrne work. The hold up here is that fat arse mobster Sexton, slowing things down so all his clients get their name thrown out there and get a raise out of it. frick him!! If we could, I’d throw his arse off campus and tell him he was not allowed back, that’s he’s fricked up his last Bama coaching search. But that’s not realistic.

Candidates:
Sark-I’m not giving up until Sark or Deloss Dodds makes a statement that he is staying in Austin. And if he does, I hope Sexton squeezes them enough to double Sark’s salary.
DeBoer- I have followed this man’s career since he was at Fresno. The man can coach. Period! He took Penix and Odunze and some complimentary players and lit up the scoreboard like a pinball machine against everyone not named Michigan. With lesser talent. If you can’t see that, you’re blind. Recruiting should not be a problem as most of the recruiting these days is made by $$$, exposure, PT, championships, and getting to the league. Bama checks all those boxes. Hire the man. Just do it.
Kiffin- He just went 11-2 at Ole Miss and lost to a playoff team and the 2 time defending national champion that is the most loaded team in college football, both at their place. First 11 win season in school history. And he would crawl over broken glass to Tuscaloosa for the job. But we won’t hire him because he slept with a booster’s wife? You serious, Clark? Lane didn’t hold a gun to that lady’s head and force her to do it. Mr. Booster needs to place the blame where it lies, both parties were adults. Tend to your own house Mr. Booster and let’s hire Lane and roll.

Dabo- Are you crazy? He chose to die on this NIL and transfer portal hill. Good for him for making a stand, as long as he makes it at Clemson. Hard pass.

Norvell-We want to hire a guy who just had his entire team quit on him because of some adversity? And Norvell didn’t exactly take the high road either on that. Plus, the story broke last night of some serious NCAA penalties for violations within his program. That eliminates most candidates from consideration in Tuscaloosa. And Norvell rode a talented QB in a weak arse conference to an undefeated season. Good for him, it only took what? 4-5 years? And it was a flash in the pan. FSU will be very ordinary next year. Pass.

Everyone else- If we get to this point, we have screwed the pooch again on a football coach hire. Why can the greatest program in college football not get this right? It’s mainly because there’s too many voices in the room that think they are the top dog. These are some of the same people that allowed Bill Curry to be hired over Bobby Bowden. We needed to get a handle on this 30 years ago. We still do. Some things never change.

I seriously want Dabo. But only if he can convince Byrnes that he’s got a plan to use the NIL and portal to our advantage and is willing to adapt. I cant see him coming to Bama if he doesn’t have a desire to change things up from his experience with the NIL/portal while at Clemson so far.

There must be a written commitment to do this, that's my only hang up.

I think NS said things would shake out and for the players to give them 72 hours before making portal and transfer descisions. I dont think Greg ever said a timeline.

Not hiring Lane isn’t just sleeping with a boosters wife… look at his record against top 25 teams. Look what Kirby did this year. There’s a better candidate who has a winning record against good ball clubs… plain and simple. Also Lane coordinator hires have been suspect unless you want a few more years of Pete

The day is today and the Coach in DeBoer.

He's better than Sarc.
He's better than Kiff
He's better xs and os then Kirby
And He's sure as he'll better than lanning.

I'm happy.

He might not be coming but those tweets don’t mean shite.

Dude. Sark’s tweet was at 10:56 PM last night. What coach tweets “It’s great to be a longhorn” at 10:56PM followed by his wife tweeting “Texas” at 10:57pm?

Everyone knows he was a target. And if he was still a viable target, he would not have tweeted Shiite.

Just like Lanning tweeted his team meeting.

This is how it’s done these days.

what happens when 20 players hit the portal and he refuses to speak to them because he's a stubborn a-hole, then he doubles down on that decision by refusing to find replacements in the portal because he's a stubborn a-hole?

What'll happen is, he'll deflect criticism by talking about Jesus, rather than address his own shortcomings. Pretty much like Mike Dubose used to do.
