Thanks I needed this, and I’m one of the more level headed fans. However, we also second guessed the GOAT college coach for the last 17 years. So, we’re probably gonna get rowdy about DeBoer’s decisions haha

He did that just to get Caleb Downs.

If someone isn’t going after Schumann, then I’d say this is a pretty shitty move by Kirby. Unless we didn’t offer TRob the dc job, who knows. It’s gonna hurt though.

Kirby is new Saban.

He has basically taken his ideology, gameplan, staff and will soon raid us of our key players....

All while fans here say "It's okay!".

All while ignoring our new coaches biggest flaw is recruiting and he apparently can't let go of some old staff to add in some better parts which Saban left.

The sunshine pumping, koolaid pounding, gown wearing mob will not like this post at all. You better get your umbrella out, it's raining downvotes today.

We haven’t even seen what DeBoer’s staff looks like yet and everyone is freaking out over something that anyone could’ve seen coming from a mile away once Saban stepped down.
It’s not gonna be a Nick Saban staff, so we need to not expect it to be that, but good grief, the melting this morning is over the top.

How do you even know that he didn’t want T-Rob to stay? KF hasn’t even had his first press conference yet. Yall need to stop melting and give the man a minute to get things in order.

I think the ONLY coach that players would have left Bama over was TRob.

That's the main point. TRob if only retained for ONE season could have helped the transition.

I know that is too much logic for some, but it is the truth.

Okay, but hypothetically, even if DeBoer wanted to retain TRob, he’s going up against the pull of Kirby Smart, who clearly decided to snatch him. You really think a new coach following the GOAT would have been able to retain him against Kirby right now? That’s an almost impossible ask. Kirby is known and established in the SEC, DeBoer is unknown and maybe TRob wants to stick with what he knows.

Y'all getting worked up over a coach that literally played for our biggest rival.

Some of the posters on here just want to argue and because someone doesn’t agree with them they act like a child. Unless you are in the football building you don’t know what happened for him to leave. I wanted him for recruiting but he might not have wanted to stay with the new staff.

Isn't that what Coach Saban said he was there to help with?

You don’t hire a top coach and tell him who he has to have on his staff. There’s going to be change. Top assistants left every year when Saban was the HC. DeBoer can figure out how he wants to manage his staff. He’s proven himself worthy of that to this point as a HC.

It was reported by someone that TRob asked DeBoer if he was going to be retained.

Apparently the response wasnt quick enough and he had an offer at uga on the table so he bolted.

We could have kept him at least for a year or two to help transition.

Or maybe he wanted to go to UGA regardless? Kirby is obviously a more stable HC than DeBoer (nothing against our new guy but it’s obvious). He gets a DC title on top of it.

Nick Saban is the best position coach we had on the defensive side of the ball not TRob.

Downs was under Nick Saban. Kool-Aid and Terrion was taught by Saban as well so please don't get it twisted.

Yeah, 72 year old CNS was coaching the corners the safeties - everybody, and the guys CNS hired to coach them were sitting up in Bears tower watching practice.

Lol. The amount of delusion is scary
