Yep. Saban was allowed to run his program how he saw fit, which is part of what made it all work. We don’t need any meddling boosters or shite like that. Let DeBoer build it how he wants it and see how it shakes out.

I think Saban also needs to keep his distance. If DeBoer is the man for the job, he doesn’t need the former coach around for pointers or interacting with players.

I was a coach for 20 years and wouldn’t like that if I were him. This is DeBoer’s team and players now.

What’s Kirby going to do now that he can’t copy all things Saban? I mean, really, has he had an original idea since he left ‘Bama?

Saban really isn’t gone, he’s now east chunky Saban.

The players couldn't all walk away as they can today in college ball. That is the Difference.

I don’t mind Saban having an office and being there when asked, but I agree other than that he needs to keep his distance.

I tend to think that ultimately Saban will spend a lot of the year at Lake Burton or South Florida and during the fall I suspect he will end up in a role with ESPN. I don’t think he is going to be around the building very much.

I do think Saban being there initially as a sounding board or to give him some names & connections for staff positions or just other transitional stuff is very valuable.

Two months and out the door. Bet he doesn't hang any pictures in that stadium office.

JMO he is there to try and help coach save the roster and up to speed on recruiting contacts etc.

Kalen DeBoer on how his staff is coming along: "Certainly have a strong feeling of what I'd like to do. … There will be a touch of Washington in there, but I understand there needs to be some SEC ties, some southeast ties that can help bridge the gap."

He’s always worked with the DB’s, hence why he had such a good relationship with them and the receivers. You can see it in multiple practice videos like below

If you’re coming here as a DB, you’re coming to be coached by Saban
