No one wanted to listen, but a select few of us told you this was what we signed up for when we decided to go with a first year starter at QB for the 2nd straight year, coupled with the youngest OL in the league and a coaching staff that lacks the daily intensity and attention to detail it takes to avoid multiple letdowns a year in the SEC.

Some of us said we were playing for 2027 before the season started once Simpson went pro, and that 9-3 was our most likely record with 8-4 and 10-2 on the table.

With the massive inexperience on offense and coaching staff deficiencies, together with the uber talented players we have, the range of outcomes each game is pretty wide. We could win out from here, we could beat LSU in Death Valley and drop the Vandy game the next week, or we could lose in Death Valley and lose to AU at home in their Super Bowl due to not stopping the run (and poor coaching preparation/decisions). Literally nothing has changed from expectations since the season started, and it’s playing out exactly as the knowledgeable posters said it would.

Now, back to not posting due to Chicken and the non-Bama moderators.

2027 was always the target with this roster. That doesn’t excuse today. That doesn’t excuse Vandy. Doesn’t excuse getting prison raped by Georgia in the SECCG or rolling over and sticking our arse in the air against Indiana.

The problem is that the fanbase is going to lose faith in what we can be in 2027 if we get our arse whooped every year leading up to it. I have been “jury is out” on this staff for 2.5 years. I’m done with them. I can excuse getting beat by better teams. I can’t excuse the procedural errors every week. The failure to make in game adjustments. The failure to make in season adjustments. The arrogance to just run what you run and hope for the best when the coaches across the field know exactly what you’re doing and scheme your head in. These guys are making millions and millions of dollars, and Kane Wommack uses a flash card to call plays. It’s insulting.

Someone on the board tried tell me last week that the Georgia game was meaningless in the grand scheme of things in the current format. I told him every time a team takes the field in a Crimson jersey it means something. I rest my case.

I predicted 3 or 4 losses before the QB decision was made. I also said this is what CKD is in this conference - a perennial 9-3 coach. However, they made me believe we could be more, but it was fools gold. This is who we are and Grubb deserves the boo-birds he criticizes

If the coaching staff doesn't have what it takes, why would 2027 be different?

And yet, somehow the following programs figured out how to not have back to back 1st year starters at QB:

Texas
UGA
LSU
Ole Miss
Ohio St
Oregon
USC
Indiana
UCLA
Michigan
ND
Miami
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

Even lower tier SEC teams didn’t have back to back 1st yr starters: AU, OU, South Carolina, FL, etc

We could have paid Ty to stay, we could have decided to go transfer route every year, but we didn’t. We decided to lose games with a young QB and young OL. I’m not sure why anyone is surprised

With enough talent and experience, sometimes coaching can be overcome. Chizik, Jimbo Fisher, Ed Oregon all have natties

What gets me is it seems like every game we are coming out unprepared and our backs are against the wall. We’ve lucked out because some teams just aren’t very good to sustain it but the trend is obvious now.

DeBoer ain’t it.

Development and long term plans are a thing of the past. Half this team will be on another roster next year and we will spend the first 3 games learning everyone's name.

So, next year will be the same as last year, the same as this year and so on.

That’s only half true. Ohio State, UGA, and Texas all have rosters and specifically QBs that were recruited in high school and developed. Texas rode the wrong pony at QB, UGA may have as well, and OSU’s just went down to injury (despite beating Indy).

Development can be done and supplemented with portal, but not if you don’t retain your roster and don’t retain your new QB for the 2nd year. We didn’t retain our QB for reasons already discussed, so we started over. We’re playing for 2027 unless we don’t retain Keelon or he gets hurt

We were never retaining Ty. He turned down more money from Miami than we could have even paid him. We don't have turn down 1st round pick money.

Agree, which means our plan was to not compete for a NC for 2 straight years. We have 1 chance in 2027, before 2028 goes back to no chance (unless we pay up for experience in 2028 or Keelon needs 1 more year of development and actually turns the light on in 2028).
