I don’t get what the point of peacocking over this is…?

Correct, you do not.
The point was stated prior to the season, and has not changed. It’s trying to educate the fanbase, so we don’t have dumb individuals expecting results that can’t happen, which then turns the individual into a toxic ranter at the staff, players, administrators, etc. because of their lack of understanding. Ignorant, toxic fans were a large part of our problems pre-Saban. I’d prefer to not go back to that if possible, but we’re clearly headed there.

Congratulations on calling that this would be a bad year? Just because we struggled in the early 2000’s doesn’t mean that should be the Alabama standard.

We can’t really change what we have got, but are you gonna sit here and write off that we had 5 games where we overcame obstacles that last year we probably wouldn’t have overcome and seemed to have noticeable improvement? Comeback wins that showed they could clearly make adjustments?
That lead at the half of the UGA game we still were hanging in there and honestly everybody thought we were looking at the two best teams. But after the UGA loss I knew how we responded moving forward would be the real test. Kinda looks like we have failed and imploded.
Looks like a lot of teams have struggled similarly today, to be entirely fair. College football is becoming the NFL. There are no more top dogs, not any depth at rosters because of NIL and transfer portal making teams anemic. It’s not just Bama’s problem, it’s a CFB problem that no program is immune to.

I don’t get the idea that this is some sort of revelation.

Rebuilding year. Calling it “Bad” shows the lack of understanding of the new environment.

Literally no one suggested we should. If we do, it will be due to ignorant, toxic fans that cause the majority of good coaches to not want to be here. We don’t have the NIL money to be the top job the way we were pre-NIL. Less reason for top coaches to put up with an out of touch fanbase

I don’t think anyone expected or is demanding another Saban dynasty but I think it is reasonable to expect the University of Alabama to (1) look like they care and practiced the prior week and (2) make a 12 team playoff every year. I don’t really see how those expectations are ignorant or toxic.

Because you are. You said Kaawa outplayed Russell in the scrimmages. An obvious lie.

This is where I think Lane excels. He doesn't do much in terms of the team as a whole but he is a QB whisperer and seems to take good talent and develops them into superstars or works a system to their strength.
We all thought KD was similar since he was an offense oriented coach. But looks like he is just not it.
Time to make a change at OC and effectively his offensive philosophy. What I fear is that the change in OC won't make a difference we expect. (Think Nick Sheridan and how we still looked dysfunctional).
The problem is the HC. Great if we can maintain a 9-3 or 8-4 trend. But if we start to slip to 7-5 and worse into 2027 and 2028 then we're probably looking to find someone else for HC.

You clearly do not understand college football. This was a classic letdown game. UGA lost at home as a 21 point favorite to AU today. TX lost as a double digit favorite at home to a FL team that got blown out by a bad South Carolina team in the Swamp last week. Our absolute best potential outcome today was a late escape struggle win, and that’s only if we had a coach like Saban.

You really, really don’t understand college football. No one in the SEC with a 9 game SEC schedule is going to make a 12 team playoffs every year unless they have all of the following: 1) the top 2 highest NIL budgets in the league and top 5 in the country; 2) one of the 3 best coaches in the country; and 3) good injury luck every single year.
We do not have the first 2, have no way to remedy the first one, and have no control over the 3rd.

You make some good points but I still disagree and I’ll put it this way: To make a 12 team playoff you need to go 10-2. For Alabama, that means win the games you are expected to win and split the competitive games. I think that is a very reasonable expectation.

I understand on the surface why you’d say that, but there is only one team who has consistently been 10-2 or better during the 8 SEC game schedule years…UGA. And they have a 2 time NC winning coach, a talent rich state with no real in state competition for it, and a decade head start building the program prior to all the NIL/Portal changes. I’m not sure even he will be able to keep it up every year in the 9 game SEC years, but he has a much more experienced team than we do to start that run this year. Why do you think Kirby and essentially all coaches want the 24 team playoff?

Nope, I was there and you weren't. Not a lie by any stretch, loser.

How many spring scrimmages did you attend?
Posted on 10/18/26 at 12:08 am to Chucky418
All I ask is the fans don’t boo this time at home.. and there will be plenty to boo about.. but since we have a arrogant coaching staff that thought we were booing the players.. please instead chant fire Grubb… or something along those lines.. let the prick know who the fans dislike

No dude. A letdown is losing 24-20 or 21-17. This was not that at all. This was a classic beatdown on both sides of the ball.

We were missing our top 2 run stopping nose tackles against one of the best running teams in the country. We were missing our starting center against one of the best DLs and nose tackles in the country.
I really don’t understand why this surprised anyone. Was it worse than I expected? Sure, but coming off the most physical game we’ll play all year straight into the 2nd most physical game we’ll play all year without 3 key trench players, and having a 1st yr starter who is an 18 yr old QB and down his #1 target….well, that’s a recipe for disaster. And disaster is what happened. So, yes, this was a classic letdown game and against a good, physical team, that means a blowout. If we played Vandy, SC, or AU, it might have meant a close loss.
