I think they will use him like Payton uses Taysom Hill with the Saints. I think eventually a lot of teams will have a QB that can flex out, block, or throw the ball. With the right athlete in the right package its very, very effective

Maybe but you don’t draft a gadget player and special teamer (that’s what Hill plays most of the time) in the 2nd round. Plus for the Saints, Brees isnt mobile and now being older he’s even less mobile. Hill is the opposite. But Wentz is mobile and young.

I get why all the Eagles fans hate this pick. They have other much more pressing needs on offense.

Some people feel the need to chime in with their opinion at every juncture.

I had a friend once that felt he had a right to speak "the truth" at any moment. He'd often defend himself with "I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking!" I say "had" a friend because we all eventually got fed up with him and cut him out of our lives. You remind me a lot of him.

Was Jalen the best QB Alabama ever had? No, but this thread isn't about that. It's about celebrating and being happy for a kid that gave it his all and showed great class while he was here, so take your "truth" and shove it.

People who don't understand that being entitled to your own opinion doesn't mean you're entitled to be a stupid redneck a-hole or a pompous douche are the worst.

I'm happy for him, and he did right by Alabama when he stuck around for another year. My statement was in response to the moron who claimed people should be eating crow about him. If you have any issue with opinions being brought into this, then that's the guy you have a problem with.

Jalen never should have been the number one guy at an FBS school and Alabama should have been able to do better.

I know we have a bunch of posters here who for whatever reason think what they’re posting is insightful or interesting despite an obvious lack of perspective...

...but to repeatedly post that a guy who just got drafted in the second round should never have started at an FBS program is just objectively one of the stupidest things I have ever seen posted on a message board.

If you would’ve told me during the 3rd Quarter of the 2018 SECCG that Fromm could potentially go undrafted, I would’ve thought you were a crazy person.

For some reason he always played well versus us but he really wasn’t a good QB. Even playing around as much talent as UGA had, if you look beyond the base stats, his numbers weren’t good.

And to think people had a massive meltdown when he decommitted during his recruitment. Alabama definitely got the better end of that deal.

He led TWO of the highest caliber FBS teams to the playoffs, you ignorant frickwit. All 3 years he started, he ended up in the playoffs and twice in the championship game.

Yes, because drafting him the second round couldn't possibly have been a bad decision.

ETA: AJ McCarron went in the 5th round. Are we seriously going to pretend Jalen is a better QB than AJ? No football fan of any team would agree with that.

It’s incredible you think that validates the hilariously moronic take you’ve posted. Says everything about you and your level of understanding of all of this.

Crazy that the best QB coach in FBS recruited him so hard when he transferred last year. Ya know, since he has no business starting for an FBS team.

Now we're pretending the Big 12 actually belongs. It's like I've entered an alternate dimension.

This might be one of the dumbest things I've read on here. Dude started 3 out of 4 years, all three years those teams made the playoffs. The one year he didn't start he led the 4th quarter comeback to win the SECCG and clinch yet another playoff birth. He was also the Heisman runner-up at Oklahoma.

But he should have never been a FBS starting QB.

Only because of Tua's injury.

Do you guys actually WATCH Alabama football?

I get the unshakable feeling that alabama is probably the only football you watch tbh. Only explanation for this level of cluelessness.

But he always folded whenever we got momentum. I still maintain that if we had punched it in on that opening drive instead of throwing a pick, we win that game relatively comfortably.

I guess I could see how someone who didn't watch the playoffs last year could feel this way.

To be clear, you said the second round pick, heisman finalist, who started at both Alabama and Oklahoma, barely lost any games at the FBS level, etc. had no business starting at the FBS level....LOL

Heh, good luck in your quest to paint literally anyone else as clueless in this thread after that take.
