To be clear, you said the second round pick, heisman finalist, who started at both Alabama and Oklahoma, barely lost any games at the FBS level, etc. had no business starting at the FBS level....LOL

No kidding. If you want to argue the merits of the Big 12 as a conference then whatever, but suggesting that Jalen belonged not at a lower tier P-5 program, not at a G-5 program, but at an FCS program is a take so stupid I think even the dumbest, Gumpiest slackjawed morons on Facebook and Twitter would be ashamed of posting it.

Jalen never should have been the number one guy at an FBS school and Alabama should have been able to do better.

He was the Heisman runner-up just last year. Get your head out of your arse...

You clearly have crow to eat regarding Jalen.

Anyone who said that Jalen would never sniff being a 2nd round pick in the NFL draft as a QB(or sentiments to that effect) has some crow to consume. It is what it is. eat that crow like a man, dude.

It really takes a lot to get me to comment on this board at all these days, though I still enjoy and read it. This one was just too much. Absolutely laughable.

Jalen going in the 2nd round is a Philadelphia thing as much as anything. They have an off injured QB and they love the spread concepts in their scheme. Jalen hit pure gold here. A good club with an offensive style that suits him to a tee. This NFL team could be as good a fit as his college choice after Alabama. He's very fortunate indeed.

Which brings me to Fromm. Never has so much been said about this kid's acumen as a QB and never has so little shown up on film. When you look at the stats, he's a game manager. Never threw for 3000 yards in a season. Against the top-level talent in the SEC was not a 4th quarter difference-maker. He was a 4-year player if they ever made one. Fromm had absolutely no business leaving Georgia as a Junior.

Alabama congratulates Jalen Hurts on getting drafted by Eagles (BOL)

How Jake Fromm became the NFL draft's biggest freefall and what it means for Georgia (Yahoo Sports)

As Jake Fromm slid into infamy on Saturday afternoon, Georgia fans were there wincing along with him. For as bad as it was watching Fromm leave Georgia early and end up being picked in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bills at No. 167 overall, it’ll be worse watching former Georgia quarterback Justin Fields — now thriving at Ohio State — go in the top 10 next season. . .

Why did Fromm enter the draft early?

They better hope that Jamie Newman and Carson Beck pan out. Alabama, their nemesis and who they try to model themselves after, definitely has the upper hand to QB play and offense as a whole in recent years. The way Kirby mismanaged Justin Fields could end up biting him in the butt if his new offense flounders. That fourth and eleven fake punt call in the 2018 SECCG was so pathetic.

UGA also has a 2021 5-star QB commit, Brock Vandagriff from Geogia. He's probably better than Beck.

Hopefully Bama can land a good QB is this class. It will be a hard sell with Bryce Young the very near future. We can also bet on one of the QBs transferring more than likely.

Can Jawjaw develop an offensive scheme that takes them away from their beloved defensive beliefs? Smart didn't even attempt to try and sell Justin Field on a spread package that signaled a more willing desire to spread teams out and go fast. He had the bullets but he wouldn't shoot.

Maybe getting boat raced by LSU will be the final push that Kirby needs to make the commitment to the up-tempo world, but that kind of commitment is easy to talk about and difficult to implement. Especially when the pressure is on and he has to witness his defense on the field too long and getting gashed. Only then I might believe it.

Kirby is one of the most conservative coaches I've ever witnessed. And if there's one lesson he has learned and taken to heart from coach Saban is his hands-on approach. It's tough for these defensive gurus to watch their pride and joy get exposed by their own offensive concepts.

Decisions, decisions.

Nobody in their right mind thought he would be a second round lo pick as a quarterback at the end of the 2017 season. I am ecstatic for him and glad to eat crow. I have my own opinion on how he far he goes in the NFL but I am a huge fan and I hope he has a long successful career.

Yes, Jalen is a fine person and serviceable QB. I don't see him going far beyond backup in the pros but would be happy for him to prove me wrong. I could not root for him at Oklahoma but now I will.

I hate say I knew this, but I could just tell Barnett didn't have the right mind to be a championship qb.

Lincoln made Jalen a better passing QB in his one year than Nick and Bama did in his 3. I will go with the scheme was much better in getting receivers more open( in the eyes of #2) and maybe the folks with the Eagles can polish him even more. #2 has/had it all but just wouldn't let that ball go at Bama. Perhaps he was just too afraid of F up.

I plan to follow his career and wish all the best for him.

His game vs Ole Miss in 2016 was my favorite. He got smacked around but kept right on coming.

Pretty sure Jalen transitioned into a significantly better passer in 2018, as was evident against a really good Georgia defense in the SECCG.

This.

Dan Enos made Jalen into a better passer. He simply took advantage of being on a superior team in an inferior league once he got to Oklahoma.

Where was Blake Barnett drafted? He very clearly is a better pro prospect than Hurts.
