That’s some high quality revisionist history.

Shaft probably bitched incessantly when Saban hired Sark as OC after his stint as the Falcons OC.

Which of his coordinator hires, to date, were considered "elite" the moment they were hired?

Lane Kiffen was considered untouchable.

And just how many elite coordinators were available? 1, maybe 2 at best?

Say what you will. I'm hoping for the best. But, Steele as DC isn't anything that moves the needle at all. Geez.

In theory, we should be able to get whoever we want

I drive elite cars. That's good enough for me. I'll let Coach worry about the rest.

I like the 69 charger. I had a 79TA, wouldn’t pull a sick whore outta bed till I put $5k in the top drive train. But that was 30yrs ago

Didn't those Trans Am's have a lot of smog stuff on the engine that held back the engine?

Not the W72 Pontiac 400 with 4 speed like mine. The dogs were the ones with Olds 403 motors and automatics. Those say only 6.6 on the scoop.

I’m thinking shaft and schooco are talking to each other like a circle jerk.

My father had a 73TA SD455 4dpd, also a 66gto 389 tri-power 4spd. The SD was like a bat outta hell, MF would fly!

Everyone laughed about Lane when Saban hired him. They stopped laughing when he turned the offense around.

Everyone laughed when Saban hired Sark. “He’s a drunk, blah blah.” They stopped laughing when his offenses were throttling people.

People have short memories it seems.

Saban has always been known to be incredibly tough on his assistants but it also meant that it was fully worth it because you were going to be on your way to a HC job.

That hasn’t been the case with our last two coordinators. Not to mention it can come with a ton of scrutiny. It’s not outlandish to think that some coaches might not be as interested as they would be in the past.

Regardless I trust Nick. I like the Rees hire a lot but not super excited about Steele. That’s my gut feel. Hopefully I’m wrong.

At least Steele is better than Grantham and hopefully better than Peter.

You shouldn't let Alabama Athletics concern you. You should enjoy watching the sports. I think you should step away from Bama sports and the board. enjoy life.

Legit great advice right there. The board, specifically the Rant, is toxic.

Outdoor and OT boards are solid.

Good, Saban does not need them. Just give him a mediocre one and he will make him great.
