There is a reason that Alabama has more coordinator turnover than any other school in the country and are still in the CFB playoff hunt every year. The same reason schools flock to Bama to snatch away coaches because they hope to get clown of the reason and that is Nick Saban. Please don't try and say Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian were "elite coordinators" hires because no other school would sniff them at the time.. Every coaches dream is to one day be a head coach, and as seen so many times in the past coaching under Saban can expedite that dream into reality. If Coach Saban wanted to hire what the media stamps as "elite coordinators" he could do so, but if they aren't a fit go get someone that is.. Who did you want to hire as OC?

Other than Pruitt he hasn’t made any elite coordinator hires.

Heck, his first staff in 2007 was pretty underwhelming, but it worked out. Maybe CNS knows something about football?

Current jobs by former OCs/DCs starting from 2014.
Kiffin- Head Coach Ole Miss.
Daboll- Head Coach NY Giants.
Locksley- Head Coach Maryland.
Sark- Head Coach Texas.
BoB- OC New England Patriots.
Kirby- Head Coach Georgia.
Pruitt- Former Head Coach Tennessee screwed over by fat phil.
Lupoi- DC Oregon.
Golding- DC Ole Miss.

The football world, college and pro, seems to disagree.

Pretty good article:

What Nick Saban's coordinator hires mean for Alabama in 2023 (ESPN)

Some Bama fans have grumbled about the new leaders of the team's offense and defense. But suggest the Tide's leader has lost his fastball at your own risk.
