Just fair warning.

Completely agree.

Tua is a gunslinger and is not afraid to throw the ball. He's going to throw a pick or two here and there, especially while he gains experience.

It's cliche to say, but the backup QB is always the most popular player on the team and every single mistake Tua makes there will be howlers demanding Hurts, which is obviously not productive.

My take, and probably most everyone's, is that Tua will make our offense explosive, open up the running game because of the downfield threat, but we're gonna see a lot more turnovers than with Jalen. For sure. Hard to beat two interceptions for the year or whatever it was. But the points on the board should more than make up for it. And by November when the big games get here, hopefully Tua's experience level is such that turnovers settle down.

Absolutely.

An explosive offense that can light up the scoreboard quickly is a good trade off for having an occasional turnover.

The alternative, having an offense that consistently struggles to get first downs and goes 3 and out frequently, is horrible, even if they rarely turn it over.

Don't give a frick. This defense will be good enough to overcome these hypothetical mistakes. Hell everyone always talks about Jalens "ball security" He threw 10 picks and put the ball on the ground at least once a game during his first season starting. Tua will be fine.

I doubt we will have anything like the weapon that was JK Scott this year.

I'm sure that was a major factor in the strategy the last two years.

First, I'm still thankful for all that Jalen has done, but lest we forget how many turnovers he had his freshman year.

Jalen turned it over every other play his first year, at least so it seemed. Then when he stopped turning it over he also stopped making plays

Hurts threw an annoyingly low amount of INTs

Why does everyone assume he's gonna go out there and throw picks? Wtf?

I mean anything is possible, but if history says anything, if he throws 1 INT he's gonna throw 4+ TDs, so I'm cool with it

Oh, a lot of people will show their ignorance if he does. He's not going to be perfect. He's going to make mistakes. But, the average person is a moron. Just take a look at the "26-2" crowd if you doubt me.

However, I think he's going to be good enough that ESPN will show his highlights and talk highly of him, and that's really all it takes to convince most people. They want a hero to worship. And, in this case, he really might turn into a superstar.

Tua is going to start. He will go out and carve Louisville up throwing several long balls in the first and second quarters. The passing game will blow Louisville out of the water. The run game will be ridiculous as teams step back to defend the throw. We will go into the 4th leading Louisville something like 48-3 and Mac will play the rest of the way. People will clearly recognize what happens when Tua is leading our offense and there will be no more arguments.
