Supposedly this season, we are, AT BEST, the #11 in NIL spent, maybe even lower than that.

Conference or country? If you’re saying conference we’re definitely higher than that

What if we had the money to keep MoDi or Stevenson? Our front court would be much stronger.

Mo D wanted more money than Oats thought he was worth. If we had 100 million budget he wouldn’t have paid him what Kentucky offered. And Stevenson just wanted to go home. That wasn’t NiL related.

Oats feels like the administration gives him what he needs to win. He’s said it on record.

Convince the FOGs we need to spend more NIL money on basketball. Good luck with that!

Which SEC teams do you think we are above?

Surprised everybody is so hyped after beating Texas Tech. Are they that good? The only team that beat a good team to make the Sweet Sixteen is Iowa. I am pretty sure Alabama is a distance second to Kentucky in SEC wins. Close with Tennessee. I think Arkansas has won more games but not in the SEC. Am I right here? I go back far enough watching the Rocket Eight beat Kentucky 101 to I think 77. It was fun watching Rupp implode. It was a one-point game at the half. Johnny Dee was a good coach and wanted a new field house to stay. They could not go to the NCAA tournament because they played as freshman. Probably just as well since San Fransico won with Bill Russell and company.

Texas Tech was very good. They beat Iowa State and Arizona on the road. They lost Toppin but Petty and Anderson are both legit. And it's the NCAAT. Alabama has won both comfortably.

NiL basketball budget in conference.

We are above Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, SoCar, Vandy, Georgia.

Probably around the same as Texas, atm, Okie, Auburn.

Clearly behind Kentucky. Close but probably behind Arkansas

You guys think we have as many 5 stars and McDs AA on our roster out of the goodness of their hearts. Our Basketball NiL is healthy. It’s not Duke or Kentucky but it’s very good.

It’s probably unrealistic to give Nate what Kentucky and Arkansas have in NIL but we need to be at the top of the rest of the conference

Well what does that have to do with Johnny Dee, Bill Russell, the Rocket 8 and allowing freshman to play?

Everyone on the “we need to give Nate everything he wants” could all easily sign up for Yea Alabama right now for as little as $5

And each big brings something a bit different. Not just a guy that can rebound and block/alter shots. Allen's a bit of a big, and he can get points himself inside. Williamson seemed to find a way to get some minutes against TT.

I want to believe the defense was the reason Tech's shooting was horrible, but Bama's been there before with missing shots.

Mich lost 3 games by 16 pts combined - Duke, Purdue and Wisconsin. Defense will have to continue to step up against Mich. Can't expect the hot shooting of the Tech game. Be nice if Allen could get someone in foul trouble early on.

Should be an easy decision for Byrne to make.

I think he caught some heat on the new football coaches buyot money, but really it wasn't that bad if you get who you want.

He does need to try and keep Oats.

Oats is rumored to be high on UNC

I don’t think Oats is on UNC’s list based on what I’ve heard from UNC people. UNC likes a buttoned up coach and the perception to some up there is that Oats comes with baggage off the court. Not saying I agree with it but that’s what the Tar Heel white collar crowd think.

Kansas could definitely make a run at Oats if Self retires. Still think we only need to worry about the NBA calling. I’ve always thought Alabama Basketball could be an ideal job. We will give you top shelf resources and pay, but we also won’t burn your house down if you don’t make the tourney 2 out of 5 years.

Maybe I’m wrong but you might be missing the point. It’s not about being overly hyped about beating TT, it’s the point for a lot of ppl that’s waited a long time to see the BB program reach this level of success.

If you want to compare success too Michigan or Duke or Carolina or several other programs that’s won probably the hardest championship in any sport then no, they haven’t. But I see no reason to criticize the success they have had or shite on ppl’s parade for being optimistic about this teams chances to beat Michigan and advance to the next bracket of 8. It’s what this tournament is all about for teams like Bama with the right coach and players in place to have the opportunity to do that and make history.

If you’re truly a fan of the BB program and its successful past history and it’s had a very respectable history then you should be equally or even more excited to where Nate has and is taking the program now. And if somehow Nate can win a championship then he’s built and crafted something very very few coaches have done from scratch. Build a program into what you envisioned. That’s very rare. Be happy, they have as good a chance as any team left.

You are right. I do like Oats. The world has passed me by in some ways. I am not a basketball fan like I once was. Not sure why. I think raising the goal a foot for college and two feet for pros and making the court bigger would make the game more interesting to watch. Similar to the difference to shooting pool on a bar table vs a regulation table. I am a little goofy, but I also think they should have a different set of golf rules for amateurs and pros to make the game more fun for us amateurs. Also, make the cup bigger for amateurs.

I think they need to either eliminate the corner 3 at the NBA level or make regular 3s worth 4 since it's just too easy of a shot for those guys, but moving the basket up a foot or more means the men's game would look a lot more like the women's. No thanks.

Your golf opinion is so heretical I simply have no response other than to say I'll be praying for you.
