Go look up his offense, our Last OC was a failed HC from New Mexico and his replacement was supposed to be a failed HC from Central Michigan. That's a real dumb way to look at this shite.
It's just hard for me to get excited about a guy who is currently an offensive coordinator in the Ivy League. Not even a head coach in the Ivy League.

you're a working coach in the southeast so it's a good bet you have a better insight and more info than most of us, so what have you heard or what do you think?

I think its a few things.. Some got really good promotions.. Step ups. Cant blame them. Also its known Saban works you to death.. some can handle it., some can not. Its a lot easier to handle it when you are winning. I feel the blowout lost to Clemson really did hurt our morale within the coaches.. Especially by a team that is seen as FUN and revolves around family. Saban wants his guys on the road and constantly watching film.. its a process. The process is great when it works.. throw in a blow out and it looks over the top. I think we are seeing some of that now.

Who would y'all think are good candidates, or early favorites for the OC job?
Thus far, most are mentioning the ND OC (Long) and the Princeton OC (Gleeson). While I'd be OK with either, wouldn't mind seeing us go after one of the Clemson co-OCs (Scott or Elliott)...think either one could do the job well and we'd also get some insight into stopping Clemson's offense should we happen to meet within the next couple of years...
Also wouldn't surprise me if we put out feelers on RichRod...and perhaps Derek Dooley as well...

If I'm Byrne, I force Saban to tell me when he plans on hanging it up. And if I cant get a straight answer or if he's talking more than 3 years away, I get on a plane to Clemson and I offer Dabo a blank check and dont leave back to Tuscaloosa without him

Thank God you aren't Byrne

It does puzzle me that Enos wast named OC right after Locksley accepted the Maryland job. Makes we wonder if it was contract issues.. such as Saban wanted a 3 year deal with Enos with a crazy buyout.. and Enos not agreeing due to him just getting out of a lock down contract. Maybe he wants to be HC in 2 years.. and Bama wanted him to commit longer..? We might never know.. but it strange and I don't think Saban wanted this. He was big on Enos

Good job, my point is that if your entire argument for not wanting someone is their job history that is reductive and stupid, just like reducing Dan Enos into a failed coach from Central Michigan would be incredibly reductive. Thanks for proving my point.
