This is typical Mike White. Embarrassing that we lost to that bunch.

Yep 60 percent or better or it's wraps.

Gotta beat tech first

nah, not 60%. We need to hit 12-15 at a 40% ish clip, and we need to get boards on at least 10% of our misses and 70% of their misses. The boards I think are the much bigger challenge. I think it will actually help that the balls are bouncy, means boards won't be concentrated around the basket. Because Sherrell is going to struggle with Mara. Would NOT be surprised if we ran some sets with Sherrell at the 4 and Williamson at the 5. Along with Jemison at the 3 on Yaxel, and Amari at the 2. They just have so much length.

Regarding Tech, I may be crazy, but I like our matchup. They are pretty small, we have the better frontcourt and backcourt, and we both play similar styles. They'll play harder than we do defensively though. Should be a good game overall, but I think this matchup favors us.

This might be the biggest shooting drought I’ve ever seen from a team, St John’s took a big lead and hasn’t made a shot in 10 minutes.

What if Golden is an average coach who landed a generational front court and had a back court go on an unreal heater last year?

Dunno but he owns Oats and it's fukking infuriating. Ben McCollum was one I highlighted as a great coach a few years ago so it's no suprise.

What if Golden gets coaching super powers from stalking women and he’s losing his juice?

Walter Clayton bailed them out plenty of times last season. Dude was unreal.

I will be pleasantly surprised if Williamson can effectively guard Mara.

Texas Tech was a dream matchup with their lack of size.

Michigan is a horrible matchup without Bediako and the only positive I can think of is that they don’t have elite perimeter length which has traditionally been our tournament achilles heel when a team can prevent us from getting perimeter shots off.

All that’s for later though. Making the S16 is a tremendous accomplishment given the turmoil this season and whatever else happens this was a fun night.

Michigan has actually been not great at defending the 3. Wisconsin popped them because of that. We have a chance next week. They have a ton of size, but they arent as athletic as Duke last year on perimeter defense. We have a punchers chance.

Got to make then run run run, Plus make our shots and play some defense, which we have been doing better as of late.

That’s why the game is played. There is always a chance. If we can bring energy and intensity early we can put them on their heels.

Houston has 26 points with 12 minutes left in the game vs Illinois.

geez guys, i'm torn between being fired up at the possibility of beating an overconfident meeshigan team and thinking no sec team gets out of the sweet 16. after all imo texas got robbed, sort of. arky got layuped and dunked to death. i look for sherrell and williamson to be in foul trouble relatively quickly. time will tell.
