My take on the 3 QB's thus far (throwing)...

Release (general): JM / TS / TB

Throwing motion (short): JM/ TB / TS

Touch (short): TB / TS / MJ

Throwing (intermediate ~ long): TS / JM / TB

Velosity: JM / TS / TB

Acuracy (short ball placement): TB / TS / JM

Acuracy (intermediate ~ long): TS / JM / TB

Consistancy: too early to tell but thus far TS & JM very close / TB

Progression: too early to tell

Saying 'Bama is in "deep shite" with the QB, WR and OL positions is you trying to have a "rational conversation"?

Just my take - should mean very little to anyone but me.

Asigning point to the list 1 for 1st / 2 for 2nd / 3 for 3rd

JM - 14
TS - 14
TB - 19

The scrimmages/mistakes will pick the leader between JM & TS. Only way TB gets the call is if the other two shite the bed (bed edit from bad). Right now JM has 2 additional items in his favor. He carries himself with a little more swagger (the stud presentation) & he has played under the gun for Alabama.

I would like nothing more than for Jalen to take the next step and take the starting job. But so far he's scored 7 tds while throwing 3 picks and fumbling 4 times. So he's 50/50 on either scoring or potentially turning it over. That's not acceptable as QB1.

He is essentially an expert in football and watched the leaked practice film. When he posts everyone listens.

I realy do not care which one of the 3 gets the call for the first game. I am just looking for 1 of them to take the ball and dare anyone else to try and take it from him.

Confidence, knowledge, and execution. The team will follow the one that gives them the best shot to win every week. They want someone to lead them, someone that gives them more confidence that they will do whatever it takes to win and do it every day.

This is one of the most overlooked qualities.
The QB needs to be the smartest guy on the field, and have total confidence.

We don't need a guy who nervously throws or doesn't throw. We don't need a guy who spazzes out, and misses routine passes.
We need a confident field general.

That's what Saban is looking for one of these guys to become. If we can just get a guy who makes good decisions consistently, can make the EASY throw, and has the guts to convert a 3rd & long when we need it, that's good enough to win.

Alabama Football Welcomes Pete Rose to Speak to Team in Fall Camp (SI)

Nick Saban adds to his illustrious list of guest speakers by inviting one of the most polarizing baseball players of all time to speak to the team.

Potential and likelihood are two different things. But, yeah, you make a lot of good points about Milroe’s having done some really good things.

Personally I just want the best player to win the job. The one that gives us the best chance of winning the most games. Idgaf who that is

I don’t think Milroe lacks any talent. It’s apparent from various videos he has the arm talent necessary. His speed is well documented at this point too. For me it’s his decision making, and more specifically his ability to make good decisions under pressure. Anxiety seemed to be his Achilles heel last year.

If everything else stays the same, and he’s learned to stay calm no matter the scenario (Hurts and Bryce seemed to have this in spades), I have no doubt he could lead us to a championship. If he’s still sputtering when the pressure is on, I find it hard to believe one of the others doesn’t overtake him for the starting role

Buchner has looked like a steaming pile of shite so far (maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but who cares)

It's entirely possible that guys like Brooks, Burton, and Bond - the 3 Bs, are just mediocre bums.

Kobe Brooks has done frick all in 2 seasons

OL: This group has played like wet dogshit the past 2 years

Don’t talk about the team in this way and you won’t be called a troll. It is fine to criticize but come on dude.

Confidence & throwing issues...

JM:
He has 3 dirrent throwing motions.
- Short passes are like a baseball catcher catching a runner to far away from 1st base. It is what I call a pop pass. All arm, short stroke, and quick. The problem is addrenaline makes those throws erratic.
- intermediate throws, his best throwing motion but aimes the throw too much. Tends toward a trailing throw rather than throwing the WR open.
- long throw, lets it fly. longer, slower throwing motion with a violent release. Addrenaline will cause him to hold the ball too tightly so flight in not consistent.
- multiple throwing motions should make him a bit better on off platform throws.
- velocity too high on many short throws - WR deflection INT's likely. Those are pick-six balls.

TS:
Same basic throwing motion at all three levels. He has been drilled so much on his throwing motion that I am concerned about off platform throws when under fire. Breaking the drilled motion would likely make him less accurate. His motion will quicken over time but it is currently a little too long/slow. Best high release point should mean fewer batted balls at LoS.

TB:
Inconsistant release point. Low release point. Best at off platrform throws. Pulls down on the ball too hard when attempting to "gun one in there".
Both TB and JM tend to aim long throws when the WR has close coverage. When that happensthe ball looks like he is pulling a string (under throw). That is a fear/consistancy/confidence concern.

I am by no means a QB expert, but after reading this, I think its a pretty good analysis. Watching Tyler B. throw looks maybe "hitched" looking. It like his release or wind up is longer, but his ball is more lose in terms of a spiral and has less on it. I have been a Ty fan for a while, but after watching that practice film, I though JM had a better day. Not by much though. His tendency to be a one read and run guy will cause him to struggle a lot against better defenses.

That is an exaggeration, as you have no idea how good any of them are.

Damn y'all after reading the last several pages I don't know whether to pull for Troy this year or just wait on basketball season.

The biggest problem with Milroe last season is the functional idiot we had calling plays tried to plug him into an offense designed for a Heisman trophy winner instead of calling a game shaped around what the young man can do.

Some of y'all act like Milroe is completely devoid of talent. And I say this being of the position that Lonergan looked the best to me in the spring. He just looked more comfortable.

Milroe is arguably the best all around athlete on the team outside of Kool Aid and Kendrick Law. It’s his ability to make accurate throws and not turn the ball over that is concerning to people. I don’t hate the guy in any way. In today’s offense you have to be able to make accurate throws and good decisions with the ball. An ability to scramble and make something out of nothing is a bonus.

No kidding. To be clear, I genuinely do not have a strong opinion about who should or will win the QB competition, but setting aside the fumbles (to the extent you can overlook those kind of unforced errors) a lot of Milroe's struggles last sesson were simply the product of BooB asking him to do all the shite Bryce did when that's not even close to his game. If Milroe wins the job I would like to think Rees has enough sense to not ask him to make a dozen pre-snap reads and adjustments followed by full field post-snap reads 50 times a game the way BooB did to Bryce. Bryce could handle it, but we had neither the OL nor the WRs to really make it workable last season. Take Bryce's brain out of that offense while changing literally nothing else and it was a disaster waiting to happen.

It got to the point last season where I kind of dreaded our offense being on the field. That's how shitty BoB was.
