You’re not wrong. I’ve been high on Lonergan I just don’t think he would be ready but maybe his disregard and sling it mentality is just him and let’s roll.
I honestly can’t wait for the scrimmage because I just need to see this for myself and I’ll be at peace.

On the bright side, it seems as though our D will be pretty damn tough this year which will take a lot of pressure off of our offense and give them some time to come into their own.

Looks like I struck a nerve. Smith is a fricking clown. Change my mind.

You could see in the A-Day game how the D was getting after it on every play. Even though they made mistakes they were hungry. There were several guys around every ball carrier, something that was missing the last couple years. We're going to see gang tackles and strip-fumbles more often again finally.
I do think the D was a big part of why the O was sloppy but I wanna see more hustle on offense and more intensity. And I wanna see Ty or Jalen look more poised and less rattled.
And to be fair to Brooks, it was Bond, not Brooks, who dropped the long pass from Milroe. But still too many dropped passes all around by everyone.

Do I remember correctly that this time last year, we were saying how good the defense was going to be and it would take the pressure off the offense?
Posted on 8/8/23 at 7:08 pm to CrimsonBoz
Yeah it's too soon to tell but Dylan reminds me of Jake Fromm when he took over for Eason as a true freshman but that had a lot to do with an injury to Eason against Notre Dame. But my friend who is a life-long UGA fan called that after seeing Fromm in practice a few times.
Only 11 days till the scrimmage so I'm anxious to hear your report soon.

Yep… Everybody sobered up and realized Hangover Pete was still the DC.

Sure, and they should have been. I'm not claiming it's a sure thing. But I'm hopeful. I think that when Kevin Steele has some dudes to work with, his defenses are usually pretty damn physical , and tough, which is what we all want.

I'm not disputing this, but saying Milroe is nothing more than Kody Burns is a clown thing to say. I think maybe you just forgot exactly how bad Kody Burns was lol
Jalen Milroe is on a different level athletically than Kody Burns.

Better athlete as a runner ? Most definitely. But Milroe was painful to watch as a passer which is similar to Burns. Plus the turnovers. I hope that he has improved his game from what we saw against Texas A&M last season. That was rough to watch.

Was Kodi Burns the one who could throw a football through a car wash without it getting wet?

It's interesting where even after someone posted a video where none of the QBs looked too good and many guys were still dropping too many passes, that it's still the shite on Milroe thread.
I really think Holstein or Lonergan may end up being the man this year. I know they aren't going against one but Buchner just has no zip on his balls and Milroe and Simpson seem like the pressure is getting to them. Neither Milroe or Simpson look comfortable like you'd want them too. I know they haven't even had a scrimmage yet but this video was concerning.
The DL is blasting the OL on every snap, hopefully because the DL is just that good and they should be but this was a sloppy arse practice outside of the D looking strong all around.
Brooks is still dropping too many balls and not hustling back to the line.
So much to say here. I haven't seen the video you're alluding to, but I believe it.
Let's face the facts gentlemen. QB, WR and Oline are a mess right now. These 3 groups are easily the most concerning going into the fall.
QB: Here's what we know - None of the QBs looked good in the Spring. This prompted Saban to scour the country looking for a transfer. He struck out with multiple QBs before settling for Buchner at the behest of Tommy Rees. The problem is that apparently Buchner has looked like a steaming pile of shite so far (maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but who cares), and it looks like we're gonna be stuck with one of the guys we saw in the Spring.
Some really interesting nuggets have come out recently. Apparently we're repping all 5 QBs according to Tommy Rees, and he said we're probably the only team in the whole country doing that right now. Then, Nick Saban said that the end of the fall camp is NOT the end of the competition and alluded to the season in which Tua took the job from Jalen as something we may see this season. Is this an indication that Longeran might take over at some point? Perhaps so...
WR: What a let-down this group has been over the past 2 seasons (excluding Jameson and Metchie). Many were calling for a new WR coach. It's entirely possible that guys like Brooks, Burton, and Bond - the 3 Bs, are just mediocre bums. I know Bond has the speed, but he's been a drop machine. It may be as simple as these guys just sucking.
I think we have the talent at this position, but they're stuck behind a mass of mediocre upperclassmen.
Kobe Prentice, Jalen Hale, Cole Adams, Malik Benson, etc. Time to give the young guys a shot. There's gotta be a future first-round pick in this group somewhere. Let's find him, and feature him. Brooks has done frick all in 2 seasons as the WR1 - totally unimpressive.
OL: This group has played like wet dogshit the past 2 years, and by the sound of it, they're picking up right where they left off. I really don't get it. All I know is that we really need the Oline to step up and assert themselves, because our QB and WR situation ain't looking good right now.

This isn't just about the practice footage today.
This is about the past 2 years combined. Our WRs (aside from Jameson and Metchie) have looked really pedestrian, and our Oline has looked the same. I don't think anyone argues that. Welp, we've got those same mediocre dudes returning once again.
At QB, none of those guys looked good in the Spring, and they're not looking good so far in the fall. Not to mention Milroe's disastrous outing last year. Saban went out to get Buchner to shore this up, but apparently Buchner isn't looking good either.
This is all legitimately concerning.
I'm not saying the sky is falling. We may end up having the best D in the country, and I'm sure that our offense will figure it out.
This isn't about "Can this team win 10 games?" The question is can this team win a championship, and at this point it's seeming like a bit of a long shot tbh. I think we have the pieces on offense. It's just about assembling them, and fast. We have Texas in game 2, and something tells me that will tell the tale of the season.

Literally the first week of practice and you're already freaking out. I'll go out on a limb and guess that's nothing new for you. I'd like to believe you're just another shitty troll, but I'm pretty sure you actually believe the horseshite you post.

How is there even a debate about the QB?
We aren't starting the guy who fumbles when he runs and dirtballs/interceptions when he's not deathly afraid to pass.
We aren't starting some no-name low tier bozo that couldn't even beat frigging Marshall.
It has been and always will be 5 star heir to the throne Ty Simpson or we're doomed. End of story.

No doubt that he’s a troll. Bama lives rent free in so many people’s heads.

Some folks really need to back away from the ledge when it comes to Milroe.
He had a rough game trying to fill in for Bryce freaking Young. Not to mention BoB called that game like Bryce was under center. But he still threw 3 TDs that game and had over 100 yards rushing.
On the season, he completed 58% of his passes, if he can just elevate that into the low 60s, that would be big. He will obviously have to complete more downfield passes too. And he averaged 8.5 yards per carry with sacks included
We don’t need to wring our hands over fumbles. If it’s still a problem, he won’t win the job. It’s pretty simple.
I still think Ty wins the job. But people acting like Milroe starting is a doomsday scenario need to take a step back and relax.

You're right dude.
Ty Simpson is going to win the Heisman. Jacorey Brooks is gonna step up and finally prove the doubters wrong! The Oline is gonna get it together and dominate everyone! Saban is the GOAT
We're going 15-0 to the championship all the way! ROLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!
Is that what you're looking for in every post? I think as men, we can have rational convos on here, and if we're hearing/seeing some concerning things, we can talk about those things without being "trolls"
