Jalen Hurts... IJS.

The competition ahead of him wasn't like this year at all.

Blake Barnett (talented guy with no heart)
Cooper Bateman (noodle arm who buckled under pressure)
David Cornwell (talented passer with more injuries than completions)

There were multiple reports of Jalen "winning the team" a week or so before the opener vs USC as well.

He’s a true freshman but has looked good in limited situations. Had some good moments at A Day. I like his ability but if he jumps over three guys who are currently ahead of him then it speaks to both his ability and their lack of ability to take the job.

I thought he looked pretty good in the A-Day game too.

I agree, he played like he had nothing to lose.

I like Lonergan and thought he looked good at A-day but I think Julian Sayin is QB1 after whoever wins the job this year. Sayin will be starting by his sophomore year at the latest. Just my opinion though.

I agree. I also don’t know where Eli Holstein fits in. He seems to be the odd man out right now. He could absolutely improve over the next year but it needs to happen with Sayin coming in.

If TS starts this year he could leave after next year, correct? So, that would be Sayin's true freshman year and Lonergan's Jr? Or would it be his sophomore year? A year of extra time could put Lonergan ahead.

Next year would be Sayin's true freshman year. If Simpson starts this year, he could go pro after next year, with yay years as a starter. Then Sayin could be in the same boat.

I think Lonergan and Holstein are talented, but I think Sayin is well above them in pure talent. Lonergan seems to have the IT factor though.

Sayin has that Tua/Bryce feel to him, where it seems he would be a first rounder here or elsewhere to me.

Not to throw gas on this fire, but he was the best in the closed scrimmage I went to

Could have been against the backup defense. I can’t remember

You have to remember that Lonergan is the son of a former Penn State quarterback. He also played against high level competition in Georgia. Atlanta has a ton of elite athletes.

Lot of people I trust in GA think Lonergan is the real deal.

It's been a while since I looked at it, so it may even be junior year tape, but his HS tape was excellent. Looks like the kind of threat we've gotten used to at QB. Also looked pretty good at A Day, for whatever that's worth.

Can't imagine him getting a legit chance this year though. The calamity that would ensue lol...

Lonergan look like the best qb at A Day for being able to read the defense, then get the pass off fast and accurately. That's a big "IT."

30 seconds into the Rees interview , and my initial feeling is that of relief that Bill O'Brien is gone.

And, Holstein won't stick around. In high school he transferred and moved from Lafayette, LA to Zachary, LA to get from behind Walker Howard. He'll leave Bama too if it looks like he won't be a starter.

Exciting times!

Not sure how everyone’s top 6 isn’t some combination of UGA, Bama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and USC
