I’m going to be honest, you have a strong bias for Jalen, which is fine. We all have our presumed starter in our minds. However, I don’t think you can spew nonsense and claim no one else knows what they are talking about. I’ve read as many reports as I can find and haven’t seen one that claims “random ducks”. Root for your guy and whether he wins or loses, root for the tide; but to make stuff up about a player that like your guy is competing is a pretty wild stance.

I think Milroe got the nod for spring and that is where it ends. Hurts was the returning starter and SEC player of the year. Milroe is only a year older and is not a returning starter and in the opportunities he has had, he has not done a great job of protecting the ball. Also, there is not a need to keep the core of the team together. We are hitting a bit of a reset.

would, I’d like to have a beer with you. I’d like to have a beer with everyone on here, even Sean.

At one point in time I wanted to with a few members just so they could actually get to know who I was (and me get to know them) but yeah I'm good on all that lol.

Definitely not the place for that, at least not for me.

This season is more comparable to 2011. McCarron and Sims were themselves locked in a QB battle and shared playing time against Kent State in the season opener. Saban then went with McCarron for Penn State and never looked back.

I saw a few things. Buchner didn’t look good to my eye, but I don’t know everything.

This is my perspective as well.

With the incredibly limited practice time we have had maybe Simpson looks better but I’m reserving my opinion until I see the scrimmage and defenses actually covering people etc.

It would be nice to see Simpson get a chance to prove himself in a live game with the first team offense. Milroe and Buchner have had that opportunity. It’s entirely possible that Simpson may be one of those guys who plays best in live games.

I think they are all getting a lot of chances and looks.

The scrimmage will tell me a lot which I will relay here.

Rees is good in front of the camera/press. Seemed more comfortable than I expected

I hear you. I just haven't lived around other Alabama fans in 15 years. I just want to watch games with other Alabma fans instead of Arkansas, Ohio St, FSU, or Texas Tech fans.

Like that an old crusty bastard like Steele was remarking on how Rees is tough but consistent. Said he has a defensive mentality.

I've heard nothing but good things about Simpson... IF he's practicing well... we wont know for sure until 1st game.

You are right they trying like hell to give the other qbs chance to win the job. Surprised we haven't heard much about Longeron

Lot of people I trust in GA think Lonergan is the real deal.

If so, then why haven't we heard much about him?

He’s a true freshman but has looked good in limited situations. Had some good moments at A Day. I like his ability but if he jumps over three guys who are currently ahead of him then it speaks to both his ability and their lack of ability to take the job.

We haven't heard much about any of them yet.

Also, true freshman having to beat out upper classmen who have been in the system for 2+ years already and are the favorites to win the job isn't exactly easy to do.

I’m not suggesting he’s going to start year 1.

Tua and Bryce weren’t Y1 starters either, I’m just stating that there are a lot of people who thought he should’ve been a 5* level kid out of HS.
