He certainly looks the part. I'll be curious to see how he progresses in Fall camp.

*Stands on Soapbox*

All three of these guys went lower in the draft than they should have in part because of the stupid "overused in college" theory some people in the NFL have. It still has more to do with devaluing guys to pay them less, but nothing pisses me off more than the stupid they had too many carries in college. What usually screws guys careers injury wise is idiot NFL O Coordinators running undersized guys in between the tackles 15-20 times a game.

Why we haven't heard anything on Bama practices?

Because they start tomorrow. Saban's first presser will be after practice tomorrow.

I don’t recall seeing this nomination process before - happy to see them soliciting nominations

Flag Recipient Program

At every home football game, The University of Alabama takes time to honor a serviceman or woman for their dedication to our country. The university recognizes active duty as well as retired members of the United States Armed Forces in a pregame flag presentation before the National Anthem. To nominate an individual to be recognized for their dedication to service, please fill out the application below.

In recognition of the service member's service, the team at Royal Furniture would like to extend a token of appreciation and present them with a brand new Lane Home Furnishings Recliner for their home

Box, you see biggest improvement on DL or LB or both? I think offense can score. Thoughts?

Nick's Kids luncheon: Sabans give back on eve of preseason camp

"We've worked all year raising money so that, at this event, we can give it all away. Today, we'll probably be giving away about $600,000 to a lot of worthy 501(c)(3) charities."

Roydell Williams, Chris Braswell, Justin Eboigbe, Deontae Lawson, Malachi Moore, Dallas Turner, Kristian Story, Will Reichard, Darrian Dalcourt, Seth McLaughlin and Robbie Ouzts pitching in & signing autographs.

Thaiu Jones-Bell no longer listed on the roster

I just checked with UA to make sure it wasn't a mistake, and it was not. The redshirt junior is no longer on the team.

That leaves Alabama with 11 scholarship wide receivers and 87 overall players for the start of preseason camp.

Interesting article about Bama being over the cap of 85:
Alabama Football: 85 scholarship deadline and why it does not matter

This was before the TJB news...

quote:

Alabama Football and every other program can have an unlimited number of players on its roster. That has been true since May 2022. Many teams have 125-130 players. Though the Crimson Tide roster number provided by rolltide.com is not official, there are 139 Alabama football players listed.

In terms of scholarship players, almost every source calculates there are currently 88, three over the limit.

quote:

It is possible all 88 players will get the equivalent of a full scholarship. The difference is three of them would use NIL funds to pay their tuition, fees and housing costs. Nick Saban may not allow such an approach, but like everything else with NIL, the NCAA has no power to monitor or stop it.

Alabama begins fall camp today with its first practice. As has been the case since 2020, it will be closed entirely to reporters. Nick Saban will hold a news conference around 4:30 CT after practice, and the school will distribute photos and video it shot at practice.

Derrick Henry only got a lot of carriers his last year. he was under utilized prior to that. Cook played in the ACC, that's like playing 8 vandy's on your schedule every year. Not the same as SEC mileage. I respectfully disagree and by mileage I really mean hits the the head/body. There is a finite number of those that can be absorbed. King Henry might be an exception in that he's proven more durable than normal but beginning his 7th pro season they are already talking about him in the past tense.
