Just don’t see him getting enough carries for this.

Why? All signs point to us returning to smash mouth.

I don't know his reasoning but I kind of agree because I think we'll have multiple backs contributing this season. I think Jase will have a great season but Jam Miller looked dangerous in limited action last year and Justice Haynes isn't being kept off the field. Not to mention Roydell Williams and Richard Young. Also the Maxwell is just as biased towards QBs as the Heisman is. An RB hasn't won it since Henry.

Too many good RBs on roster. I see 3 RBs getting at least 5 carries a game.

Jase will probably get 8-12 at most.

It's possible to have two rbs hitting 800 yards this season.

Speaking of, Ty threw in some clips on IG. If he can get it together between the ears, and not try and do too much, he will be tough to beat. you can absolutely see and NFL caliber arm. With his mobility and ability to throw accurately on the move, at least in the clips that have been posted, he reminds me of a smaller Josh Allen. Obviously not that level, but something about Ty puts me to the mind of him.

Alabama 2023 Awards Tracker: Outland and Nagurski Awards (SI)

Like usual, numerous Crimson Tide players will be up for national awards during the 2023 college football season.

What makes you think that he doesn’t have it between the ears ? His dad is a college coach and he’s been groomed to be a college quarterback from an early age .

Oh I believe he has it. I suppose it’s partly me trying not to show bias, and also because I don’t want to hype him too much in my head to be disappointed if he doesn’t get the nod. I have been high on him since highschool. He played against my nephews school and albeit a small Christian school, he popped. He can play, it’s a matter of whether or not he can play within himself and keep the mistakes at a minimum.

this is possible but awards aren't nearly as important as appearing to have plenty of tread on the tires for the NFL. Those GM's hate backs who had too many carries in college. RB's have just about the shortest careers in the NFL as well.

Ehh… I don’t think this is really true.

Dalvin Cook, Derrick Henry, Chubb, etc all got a bunch of carries in school. There’s a bunch more I could list. The NFL is going to find the best talent regardless of usage.

I think RBs just get one good contract then have to settle for less.

Another great story from Saban about his time playing QB in HS:
quote:

“When you get in critical situations, don’t think of plays, think of players”

I could listen to Saban tell stories all day long

Twitter video with Saban telling the story (as a bonus, there is footage of him playing in HS)
