I thought Saban specified that he had practiced. Him and Moore.

“They’re able to practice, just how much they’re able to practice and how close to 100% they’re able to get by game time will need to be a question that we’ll have to answer,” Saban said during the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday. “That probably is not something we can comment on until we get to that point.”

Has there even been such a clear hindrance to a team as Pete Golding?

Golding isn't close to the top of the list when it comes to football arsonists even over the last 5 years. Just in the SEC we have seen Chad Morris, Bryan Harsin, and Matt Luke.

In terms of one coach managing to singlehandedly frick up an otherwise stacked roster though? I'd say it's probably Golding or O at the top of the list. Both were dragged to a championship by more competent people and otherwise did everything they could to squander elite rosters.

Basically Bill Golding if combined into 1 person.

I think BooB at least has the one saving grace of recognizing the greatness in Bryce and deciding to let him cook even though his mediocre playcalling resulted in a predictable, imbalanced offense.

Golding had multiple passrushers with first round talent and preferred to have them stunt inside to get doubled by two interior linemen or simply drop off into coverage in order for a safety or ILB to rush on a telegraphed delayed blitz instead.

To me BoB was one of the worst 3rd down coaches of all time.

We simply sucked dick on 3rd downs.

I think BOB was horrible on 1st down and 2nd down which created a lot of 3rd and long situations. People don’t realize how bad he was for Alabama. Young, Jamo, Metchie, and Gibbs covered for much of his ineptitude.

Deeply worried the Mac Jones is going to be leading another car wreck. They didn’t overhaul their WRs at all and I am dubious of BOB’s credentials.

Again?

I love Joe, but we have plenty of alumni to choose from without having to double dip.

Kind of seems like we don’t.

Glad he is gone, but his deleterious effect does not compare to that of Golding. Though it ultimately comes back to the HC, Golding's lack of aggressiveness was a major factor in Alabama's physical and mental softening. Also, he was here 5 years vs 2 for O'Brien.

There are a number of famous Alabama fans and alumni who could guest pick for the Tide. Courtney Cox, Sela Ward, Tom Arnold, Melissa Joan Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Channing Tatum, shite...even former Beatle, Ringo Starr:

He might very well be one of the worst college defensive coordinators of all time.

Saban should've hired Steele years ago.

From Saban's radio show just now:
quote:

Saban: "We're working hard to try to get them ready. Malachi's been able to practice some. Jaylen Key practiced some today. Both of them will be game-day decisions.

"I've been encouraged by the progress that they've made."

Really appreciate Charlie Strong for 2020.

Would like to see him back if the outside linebackers or defensive line position opens up in the future (assuming Bo Davis is not an option).
